Description of the walk

Head towards the village of Pierremenaud by taking the narrow road that starts in the centre of Oulx. Park in the large car park just before Pierremenaud.

(S/E) Continue along the tarmac road and walk through the village. Take the opportunity to admire the murals. Continue along the good, wide path, rejoin the tarmac road and reach the second village, Vazon.

(1) Leave the road, walk through Vazon and join the wide path marked ‘White-Red’ on the left. Continue through the forest, climbing gently. Cut across the track and, further up at a large hairpin bend, rejoin this forest track.

(2) Stay on the path on the right and, after a very steep climb, emerge at the Madone de Cotolivier site. Enjoy the beautiful views of the valleys and surrounding mountains from here.

(3) Begin the descent, staying on the ridge along the path which soon joins the forest track.

(4) Turn left onto it and follow the track. You’ll reach the junction with the track leading to the chapel.

(5) Stay on the track on the right to reach the junction at the hairpin bend.

(2) Follow the route you took on the way out to return to the Pierremenaud car park (S/E).
