Circular around Lutzelbourg and the Plan Incliné
It's a fairly long route of just over 20 km, which can be done on foot or by trail running.These 20 km offer a wealth of diversity, including trails, an abandoned canal, landscapes, rocks, tunnels and a castle.A route that is well worth exploring. If it is too long, it is quite easy to split it into two parts.Although the route is long, it is fairly easy to follow. Most of the paths used are marked by the Club Vosgien.
Around the Saint-Louis Inclined Plane
A lovely walk around the Plan Incliné, featuring the Rocher du Calice, a passage under the Marne-Rhine Canal (bring a torch), the Passerelle Patou, the abandoned canal, the Maison Forestière Bodenmarck, the Rocher du Corbeau with views over the canal, the Sentier des Roches, and finally a walk past the Plan Incliné.
Haselbourg circular, via Saint-Fridolin and Falkenfels
A beautiful hike to Haselbourg/Heller, in the Dabo region, starting from the Plan Incliné car park in Saint-Louis, passing by the Saint-Fridolin Chapel, named after an Irish monk, and its baptistery. Continue on to the cave dwellings of Falkenberg and the Rocher des Faucons, with a beautiful view of Dabo. In Haselbourg, a picturesque village, the main street circles the Roman camp. Return along the Zorn, on the left bank, on the unmarked "CV" path. The path is not difficult, but a map or GPS is recommended. Upon arrival, you can also visit the Lerher crystal factory.
From Trois Bacs to Rocher du Calice

Lutzelbourg to Saverne

Stambach-Wasserwald, a charming trail
This route is a treat for those who love narrow paths and the peaceful atmosphere of the forests of the Northern Vosges.
There are several beautiful viewpoints and rocks along the route. You will also discover the archaeological site of Wasserwald, where our Celtic ancestors, known as the Mediomatrici by the Romans, lived more than 1,500 years ago.
Zorn Valley and three castles
This hike starts in the valley and climbs into the forest, passing several viewpoints over the Alsace plain. The Brotsch Tower and three castles are worth visiting if you have time, as is the tower of the old Chappe telegraph.
The entire walk takes place in the forest. Beautiful sandstone and puddingstone rocks line the route.

The legendary rocks of Ballerstein, Sickert and Dabo
As you walk along these superb paths lined with remarkable sandstone cliffs, you enter the mysterious land of the Dabo region, which has been marked by a strong Celtic presence.
The remarkable sites of Ballerstein, the territory of Baldur, the Celtic god of light, Sickert and Dabo bring together a large number of geological curiosities, traversed by shady, bucolic paths and alternating with several magnificent panoramas.
The Rock of the Dabo region
Set off to discover the sights around the Rocher de Dabo, a historic site dating back to Celtic, Roman and medieval times. The Rock of Dabo is a must-see site in the commune. From its height of 664 metres, it offers one of the most spectacular panoramic views of the Hautes Vosges Gréseuses, stretching from the Alsace plain to the east, the Vosges mountains to the south and the Lorraine plateau to the north-east.

The Saverne State Forest has many unusual and mysterious places to offer, and this beautiful hike through the undergrowth is a fine example.Pass through the ruins of the Ochsenstein castles (the Grand, the Petit and Wachelheim), along the pretty Schlossberg ridge path to the Krappenfels Rock viewpoint. Further on, the Wuesterberg ridge path leads to the Mur Païen and the Pierre des Druides, the remains of an ancient Celtic place of worship.After these few bumps, it's easier going to reach the Schweizerberg plateau and the Neubaufels gazebo, finally arriving at the enormous fractured rock of the Seebfels.
Please note: the summit of the Ochsenstein castles is now closed to the public.

Ochsenstein Castle via the Druids' Stone
Discover the beautiful ruins of Ochsenstein Castle after walking along the impressive rocky outcrops of Wuestenberg, Krappenfels and Schlossberg. The first part of this hike follows a well-shaded path, whilst the second part offers magnificent views over the Alsace plain.
⚠️ 21/04/2026: From spring 2025, parking is mandatory at the Billebaum car park (the road to the Haberacker forest house is now closed to motor traffic). This adds a 15-minute walk (one way) to the forest house, via a small path to the left of the forest road, and does not add any elevation gain to this hike.
Circular route from Billebaum to Spillberg, Geissfels, Schlossberg and Wuestenberg
The undulating paths you will follow on this lovely circular route, starting from the Billebaum car park, will take you to the heart of several Alemannic legends (La Spill, a 10-metre-high vertical monolith), to the Geissfels (a magnificent rock with a 40-metre drop and a remarkable view over Dabo), then, in the second stage, to the ruined Ochsenstein Castle (three 12th-century castles built on three sandstone spurs, with the summit area off-limits) and, continuing on from there, the long rocky plateau of the Schlossberg. Finally, the third stage takes in the Wuestenberg plateau, an ancient oppidum and Celtic place of worship (pagan wall, druid stone), the southern end of which begins with the Krappenfels, an enormous rock offering magnificent views, particularly of the Dabo rock.
Rocher de Dabo, Col de la Schleif and Rocher du Himbeerfels circular loop
A circular route in the heart of the Vosges mountains, in Moselle, on the trails of Rocherdu Dabo, a natural viewpoint offering superb panoramic views of the surrounding forest. Along the way, you will stop at Rutschfelsen, then at Col de la Schleif. Next, via Col du Himbeerfels, you will complete the circular route and climb up to the magnificent Rocher du Himbeerfels. The route continues to theZollstockRestaurant, with an optional but recommended stop before heading back. To conclude this circular route combining nature and heritage, a visit toSaint-Léon Chapel will add a cultural and spiritual touch to your wonderful getaway. An easy hike, accessible to all, with beautiful trails and varied paths, combining remarkable landscapes (in good weather) and local discoveries.

Geissfels, Table des Géants and Sattelfels from Reinhardsmunster
Apart from the slightly steeper climb from the Gloriette du Geissfelwasen to the Rocher du Geissfels, this short hike is not difficult and is very pleasant, despite the last kilometre before the finish being on the road. The view from the Geissfels is 360° and well worth the detour.
