Park at Neutstadmuhle in the car park opposite the Château restaurant. There is space to park many vehicles.
(S/E) Take the forest road (RF) north for a few metres, then take the path on your right, marked with a red disc by the Club Vosgien.
Follow this path to the village of Haselbourg. Please note that there is a 150m elevation gain over a fairly short distance, resulting in a steep slope in some places.
When you arrive in the village, stay on the main road for a few dozen metres and, at the mound of the old Roman fort, turn right onto the path marked with a red disc.
Follow the red disc to Falkenfels or Falcon Rock.
(1) Head towards the troglodyte houses by taking the path heading due east. The site is indicated by a small sign, about 2.2 km after the start.
(2) At the troglodyte houses, continue along the path marked with a red ring. Join the forest road.
(3) Head east on the left. The trail is marked with a blue disc and a red ring. Ignore the crossings on the left and continue to Lochmuehl after 1.8 km.
(4) Cross the tarmac road and, at the houses, take the path marked with a yellow triangle on the right. Stay on this path, which climbs steeply for 300 metres.
Cross the RD45 and continue straight ahead on the path. Be sure to follow the yellow triangle markings. Continue until you reach the hamlet of Petit Ballerstein.
(5) Do not enter the hamlet. As soon as you reach the plateau, opposite the house, take the blue ring marked path on the right to reach the rocky barrier of Geisterfelsen or Ghost Rock.
(6) Go around this barrier on the path that winds between the rocks. It is very pleasant, especially in autumn. Continue on flat ground to Heidenschlossfels, which offers a beautiful view of the valley.
(7) Descend the marked Yellow Cross trail, which crosses a forest road. Pass the oratory.
(8) Turn left at a 90° angle, rejoin the RF and turn right. You will come to another crossroads.
(9) Leave the forest road and turn left downhill, reaching a crossroads in a hairpin bend.
Turn left at this bend. Cross the River Zorn, pass the football stadium and arrive at its end.
(10) Turn right onto the tarmac road, reach Neustadtmuhle, cross the bridge to reach the car park opposite the Château restaurant (S/E).
