Villers-la-Faye walks

A signposted trail along the entire route that will allow you to discover the rich landscapes of the Hautes Côtes de Nuits, as well as the village of Villers-la-Faye. ⚠️ 19/05/2026: The Bat Trail is currently being modified, refurbished and re-marked by the Naturellement Villers association.

A very beautiful walk, especially in October when the vineyards are ablaze with colour, in the Hautes-Côtes between vineyards and woods in a hilly landscape, with pretty views, particularly above Pernand-Vergelesses. The hike is fairly easy, on good paths, despite a few short but steeper slopes. You can picnic in the wash house at Villers-la-Faye, which has been converted for hikers.

This is stage 5 of the Route des Grands Crus and it runs from Pernand-Vergelesses round the woods and vineyards along to Magny-lès-Villers and Villers-la-Faye villages and round the quarry and down into Prémeaux-Prissey. .It is dog friendly and through both vineyards and countryside.

On this third stage, we take some liberties with theGRP® route, taking a few shortcuts along the way and in the final section between Pommard and Meursault. Vineyards, grand crus, heritage sites and beautiful panoramic views await.

Discover a multi-faceted trail. A flat start along a stream, followed by the cliffs and the Trou du Duc. Pass through the forest and discover 2 historic sites: the Gallo-Roman site and the Monument du Maquis. Return through the vineyards.

This unpretentious hike allows you to discover other aspects of the Nuits-Saint-Georges region, combining the unmissable Trou du Duc with more classic sections. A hike to do for a change of scenery when you've already done all the others and want something different!

This is stage 7 in the series of Route des Grands Crus walks runs from Nuits-St-Georges through the vineyards and woods and combes to Gevrey-Chambertin. Both of these small towns are host to some of the most famous red wines in the world as are some of the charming villages and landmarks in between like Vosne-Romanée, Chambolle-Musigny and Chateau de Vougeot. It is a dog friendly walk (there is a good veterinary surgery in Nuits). It is a fairly long and reasonably challenging walk as there are some climbs in the middle leading off the vineyards into the woods. Return by bus and train is possible to the start.

This is an easy hike in open terrain with beautiful views of the Hautes-Côtes. It is an ideal walk for a half-day in autumn (the vineyards are magnificent) or winter (the terrain is very passable).

This hike takes you across the limestone grasslands of Nuits-Saint-Georges, then along a very pleasant woodland path before arriving at the hamlet of Corboin and then Concœur. On the way back, the path overlooks the important vineyards of Vosne-Romanée and Nuits-Saint-Georges.

A circular walk through the vineyards and the stubble fields on the hills, passing by the rather unfortunate local Statue of Liberty. The second part of the walk follows an interpretive trail with information boards about the vineyard. The town centre can be visited at the end of the walk. Of particular note is the beautiful Saint-Symphorien Church in its old cemetery, set apart from the town centre.

Head up through the vineyards to enjoy a view of the village, its vineyards and the surrounding wooded hills before heading back down to explore the village, and perhaps visit the château – if not for its collections, then at least for the building itself.

30 km from Dijon, on the heights of the Côte Nuitonne, take a walk in the Val de Vergy, a historic site in Burgundy and stronghold of the "valiant" Vergy family, a prestigious family deeply rooted in past and present memories. Étang Vergy, Abbaye Saint Vivant, Curtil-Vergy and Bévy are all on our route.

Discover two magnificent valleys with splendid panoramic views. Some very tricky sections, especially on the descents, which involve some climbing. You can avoid these difficulties, but this will mean missing out on some thrilling experiences and beautiful views of the valleys. Take a look at the photos to get an idea of the difficulties before setting off on this hike. Nothing is insurmountable, but it's better to be warned.

A circular route starting from Étang-Vergy leading to Bévy, Collonges-lès-Bévy, then to Chevannes through the forests of Collonges, Chevannes and Arcenant, skirting Meuilley and Messanges, before reaching Curtil-Vergy. Along this walk through woods and vineyards, you’ll find remarkable trees, a megalithic site, a resurgent spring, the ruins of an abbey, not to mention wash houses, mills and restored old buildings.

This hike offers beautiful views of three valleys: the Côtes de Nuits, the valley at the foot of the Reulle-Vergy spur and the valley on the Détain-Gergueil forest side. Also on the programme are the pretty, traditional villages of Corboin and Concoeur, then Segrois. Not to mention the Abbey of Saint-Vivant, which is currently being renovated.

From hills to valleys, climb to new heights! Hautes-Côtes and Côte de Nuits... Gevrey-Chambertin... Great names that evoke famous vineyards and their Grands Crus... and a varied and little-known natural heritage! A generous environment where rich and diverse flora and fauna thrive.

Stroll around the ruins of the region's most powerful fortified castle. Visit the ruins of the Abbey of Saint-Vivant and explore the Abîme de Bévy.

This short hike takes you through a wide variety of landscapes and offers superb views of the Burgundy vineyards. For wine lovers, it runs alongside the prestigious Romanée Conti vineyard.

An easy walk in the hills above Beaune. Views of the town and vineyards. Return via the Parc de la Bouzaise.

A circular loop on the Montagne de Beaune, through the forest covering this small peak and then along a balcony path overlooking the vineyards. You’ll pass the monumental statue of Notre-Dame de la Libération and a monument in memory of the winegrowers and stonemasons.

A very pleasant walk in good weather, following in the footsteps of the historic past of the Vergy hill, through existing buildings and the remains of ancient monuments.

This is stage 4 of the Route des Grands Crus series (RDGC). It covers the path from Beaune outskirts at Bouzaise Park through to Savigny-lès-Beaune and then Pernand-Vergelesses and Aloxe-Corton. It is dog-friendly and runs through charming villages, famous vineyards and wonderful countryside with great views. You will walk in both open country and the woods using good tracks or very quiet roads. There is some climbing but in general the walk is reasonably flat. Directions are well signposted. Although Aloxe-Corton is slightly off the official RDGC we finish there for a number of reasons outlined below including return route options

For locals, "La Montagne de Beaune" is like a little paradise just a stone's throw from the big city. This well-known site can still surprise walkers with its scenery and its many perfectly maintained paths.

Why not visit the Hôtel-Dieu des Hospices de Beaune as part of a walk that allows you to discover other aspects of the old town? This route takes you past other monuments in the town, historic houses, parks, shopping streets and the old ramparts.

This hike, mainly in the forest and on the heights of the Côte-d'Or, will take you to the vast Grotte de Roche Chèvre cave, which is well worth a visit. Please note, however, that there are two passages with tall grass.

This walk follows the path that the monks of Cîteaux used in the Middle Ages to go and work in their vineyards in Vougeot. It passes through the pretty village of Gilly-lès-Cîteaux, with its beautifully restored castle, which was once a dependency of Cîteaux Abbey. The walk ends in front of Cîteaux Abbey.

This circular route takes you up through the vineyard plots (Beaune ‘climats’) to the woods covering the higher ground of the vineyard. The route passes a viewpoint overlooking the Ruisseau de la Combe valley.

Hiking, almost entirely in the forest, is very pleasant in summer. Beautiful views of the vineyards. In the centre of the village, there is a church and a magnificent lime tree.

Beautiful hike starting from the village of Chambolle. This trail allows you to (re)discover the Château d'Entre Deux Monts, the Château du Clos Vougeot, and the natural heritage of the Chambolle Musigny and Orveau valleys.

Burgundy’s vineyards are an integral part of the region’s history. The most famous of these is undoubtedly Clos Vougeot.I suggest a short walk up to the heights of the vineyard, starting from Chambolle-Musigny.

A circular loop in the Mantuan Forest above Curley. You can enjoy the beautiful autumnal or spring colours of this wooded plateau, which is surprisingly reminiscent of the Jura. A lovely viewpoint overlooking the village of Reulle-Vergy and the Vergy Hill.

To the west of Beaune, valleys and hills follow one another to welcome the vineyards of the Hautes Côtes de Beaune. On limestone soil, I invite you to discover these beautiful landscapes through the vineyards.

This dog friendly walk runs from Pommard centre up into the hills through vineyards and woods and then finishes down in the outskirts of Beaune in the delightful Park de la Bouzaise. There is an option for an easy circular return if needed.
