The walk starts from the car park below Saint-Saturnin Church at the foot of the Vergy hill.
(S/E) Take the small one-way road you came up on, then at the bottom of the descent, after about 600 m, look for theGR®7(red and white markings) on the right.
(1) Follow it to the centre of the village of Reulle-Vergy. Be careful not to get too close to the beehives! When you reach the bottom of the village, go to the fountain.
(2) Turn right onto a good path with several hiking signs, until you reach the fork.
(3) Take the left path, marked in blue, towards Concoeur. The climb is gentle and gradual. At the top, continue to follow the blue markings on the path, which curves to the right. After passing under the high-voltage line, take thefirst path on the left (do not continue straight ahead on the path, which becomes narrow). About 200 m further on, you will arrive at Grande Sommière, where you should turn right into a beautiful fir forest.
Continue to follow the blue markings until you reach thethird clearing.
(4) Turn left onto this road, which quickly gives way to a path leading down to Corboin. Leave the path leading to the Château d'entre Deux Monts on your left and head towards the village.
(5) Cross Corboin, going straight ahead at the intersection, then head towards Concoeur on this small tarmac road. As you pass the cemetery, note the beautiful sequoia trees.
(6) Follow the signs in Concoeur (do not turn left down towards the main road) and take the small street on the far right. This is the Chemin de Barbe Blanche. Continue until you see a yellow sign for the "Batier" trail.
(7) Follow it to the right. Please note that the "Batier" is signposted on the right, but the access point is about 30 metres further on. Follow the clear markings. Further on, cross the Pique-Chose stream after a short, very steep climb, ignoring the paths branching off to the right and left. You will arrive at the top at the Grande Sommière crossroads.
(8) Go straight ahead. At the next intersection, leave the "Batier" on your left and continue straight ahead. The path descends rapidly. At each crossroads, take the left-hand branch downhill and ignore all right-angle crossroads, continuing straight ahead. Do not follow the signs for Chemin des Moines and Saint-Vivant. Arrive in Segrois via the Grande Rue.
Cross this village with its pretty dry stone houses and, near the town hall, look for a small road on the right, Rue des Modeux. Take this road until it turns left shortly afterwards.
(9) Continue straight ahead on the road in front of you. Continue for about 900 metres, then turn left onto a large road that descends and then climbs again opposite Curtil-Vergy.
Cross this village going straight up, then, at the top, cross Rue de l'Abbaye de Saint-Vivant.
(10). Immediately notice a very small path opposite that climbs steeply and which you must take to rejoin theGR®7a few hundred metres further on. It leads to the foot of the Vergy hill, opposite the Abbey of Saint-Vivant.
Follow theGR®7opposite with a short steep climb up the spur. Follow thisGR®, enjoying the beautiful views of the ruins of the Château des Comtes de Vergy (12) (see "During the hike") and the panorama of the two valleys, continuing to the car park (S/E).
