Through the Pommard vineyards via the Fontaine de Lulune

A short walk through the vineyards starting from Pommard, taking you up to a higher vantage point and offering views of the village and the vineyards stretching across the hillsides. Above the vineyard plots, the path winds through the stubble fields and woods covering the hills.

Description of the walk

In Pommard, parking spaces are available around the church.
Yellow PR® marked trail no. 13, circular route B.

(S/E) From the front of the church, with your back to the entrance, head right, pass the Fontaine de l’Artichaut on your left, then turn slightly left and immediately right onto Rue des Efenots, signposted PR®13 (yellow) towards Fontaine de Lulune. At the junction, carry on straight ahead. At the junction with Grande Rue, continue straight on along Rue de la Refene. You’ll enter the vineyard on a shared path with cyclists.

(1) Carry on straight ahead, still on the cycle route, until you reach the junction with a wider road. Take care further on: turn sharply left onto the small, dilapidated road which immediately turns right.

(2) At the T-junction, turn left. Shortly afterwards, you’ll come across the red and yellow signposting for the GRP® des Grands Crus, which will guide you almost all the way to the finish. Further on, pass the ‘Le Clos des Mouches’ signpost and carry on straight ahead towards the PR®13 Source de Lulune. Ignore a small road on the left and you’ll reach the ‘Les Montrevenots’ signpost.

(3) Carry on straight ahead, still heading towards Source de Lulune.

(4) At the T-junction with a track, turn right and you’ll soon reach the Fontaine de Lulune. Carry on along the track and, a little further on, ignore a hairpin bend to the right. Just after that, you’ll reach the ‘Dessus Lulune’ signpost.

(5) Turn left onto a path towards PR®13 Pommard. At the T-junction with a track, turn left.

(6) Take the path branching off to the right. At the next fork in the road, keep to the right. At the crossroads, first turn right then left towards the Pays Beaunois 13 signpost. First turn right then left again at the next junction, still following the Pays Beaunois 13 signpost, then go straight ahead at the following junction. View of the vineyard.

(7) At the T-junction with a track, turn left towards the ‘Pays Beaunois 13’ arrow. You’ll reach a junction with a small road on your right.

(8) Follow this small road, passing through a barrier. Then carry on straight ahead, ignoring any side roads. Further on, pass a picnic area and you’ll soon reach a crossroads with four small roads.

(9) Turn right. Ignore two small roads on the right, then take the first turn right then left at the next junction to return to Pommard. Ignore a road on the right, then turn left at a cross, thereby leaving the GRP® signposted route. You will soon come to the church and the car park (S/E).
