Park in the Vergy church car park.
(S/E) Take the GR®7 (red and white markings) which passes right by the church, heading south, and follow it until indicated otherwise. Shortly afterwards, climb up to the viewpoint indicator and the ruins of Château de Vergy. Then continue to follow the GR®7 southwards, over the Butte de Vergy.
(1) Descend to the other side of the mount via the other viewpoint indicator, and arrive near Saint-Vivant Abbey.
(2) Make a short round trip to the ruins, then return to the GR®7.
(2) Continue on the path, which turns west then north-west and descends to l'Étang-Vergy. Continue to the town's main street, Grande Rue.
(3) Cross it and continue straight ahead. Just before the church, follow the GR®7 which turns left towards Bévy. Continue to this village.
(4) At the crossroads before the Bévy church, take the left-hand path down past the wash-house to the Combe de l'Abîme ('Valley of the abyss').
(5) Leave the GR® to the right and descend to the bottom of the valley for a round trip to the abîme, in a thicket on the left. Retrace your steps for about 200m, then turn left to rejoin the GR®7 about 50m to the south.
(5) Continue left towards Collonges-les-Bévy. Continue through the village to the château. Go around the castle to the right.
(6) Leave the GR®7 to the right and follow the wall of the château grounds towards Pellerey.
(7) When you reach a tarmac road, take the path on the left, cross another tarmac road and 200m further on, turn right towards Pellerey.
In Pellerey, turn left on the D35 for 50m, then right on the D109a. Follow this road to the entrance to Curtil-Vergy.
(9) Turn left onto Rue de l'Abbaye de Saint-Vivant and follow it to a junction.
(10) Continue straight ahead, passing the tennis courts under the abbey. Continue up towards Château de Vergy.
(11) When you reach the château, turn left for 200m to the Tour Saint-Denis.
(11) Back on the left, continue down to the Vergy church and car park (S/E).
