Tonnac walks

This pleasant loop in the Cordais hills, between vineyards and woods, allows you to discover a unique geological feature (the rougiers) and beautiful views of the villages of Cordes and Tonnac. The hike was created by the Tarn department and marked by volunteers from the FFRandonnée.

A pleasant circular route for exploring the Gaillac vineyards, crossing the valleys and hillsides of the Tarn with ease. This hike is not recommended in hot weather as there is little shade.

A hike that alternates between small villages, castles and churches, with the added bonus of a breathtaking view of Cordes-sur-Ciel. Best done in spring or, even better, in October, when the vines change colour. In summer, the shaded areas in the undergrowth are very welcome.

Near Cordes-sur-Ciel, a small village awaits you to discover its history and its Merovingian necropolis. Along the paths and small roads, you can take part in an interactive treasure hunt. The safe and its secret await you.

This is an easy hike, ideal for a half-day, which allows you to discover the beautifully restored houses of two small villages and takes you through hills and valleys, ending with a walk through part of the Gaillac vineyards.

About fifteen kilometres from Gaillac, this is an easy hike in a peaceful setting of rolling hills, woods and vineyards. A few beautiful residences and several dovecotes dot the route, adding to its charm.

A route through the Cordais region with small villages and beautiful churches to discover, beautiful views all along the way and, to finish this circular route in style, a touch of magic with the Laussière valley and its ruined mills.

Circular loop west of Roussayrolles, requiring some effort but allowing you to discover the remarkable ruins of La Laussière. In wet weather, the section of the mills is full of waterfalls.

This circular route takes in the two streams near Roussayrolles and forms a varied route, both in terms of elevation and landscape. The Bonnan and the lower reaches of the Grézelles Forest run alongside the mills of the Laussière, much to the delight of walkers.

This hike in the Vaour region, between Quercy and Albigeois, alternates between Celtic and Roman paths in a Causse landscape dotted with dolmens and numerous fountains. Several pretty villages: Saint-Michel-de-Vax, Roussayrolles and Peyralade have remarkable buildings. Let's set off to explore a multifaceted environment from the small village of Saint-Beauzile. After passing through dense, wild undergrowth, where we take forgotten paths, the route becomes more open, allowing us to discover gently rolling countryside where vineyards and cereal crops coexist harmoniously. There is a little tarmac, but on very quiet roads.

This route heads into the Grésigne forest via a wide forest track towards Sainte-Cécile du Cayrou to the south. It then returns through vineyards and fields towards Saint-Beauzile across undulating countryside criss-crossed by numerous streams. A well-maintained wash house provides a useful shelter halfway along the route for a picnic in bad weather! This walk is a longer version of the “Around Saint-Beauzile” walk published on Visorando.

Variation on the "From Bournazel to Mouzieys-Panens" route This circular route goes from roads to trails, with ups and downs, through the Cordes countryside with numerous viewpoints on the north side of Cordes-sur-Ciel. It includes different sections of trails and, although the route follows parts of otherPR® orGR®36trails, a GPS is recommended as the route includes unmarked sections.

A walk offering a variety of landscapes, with a beautiful view over the Gaillac plain. Then a walk through a very pretty hamlet and, to finish, a trail through the forest offering a change of scenery.Note: the ride involves a significant elevation gain; we start by descending and then climb back up.

This loop allows you to visit the Chapelle Saint-Jean, an endearing place with a strong link to the history of Cordes-sur-Ciel. The tour ends in the tourist centre of the bastide town of Cordes for a well-deserved visit and break.

A fairly short, unpretentious hike requiring a good sense of direction. The route is mostly along forest tracks or paths but has no signposts. A compass and map are essential; a GPS is recommended. The terrain is quite varied and you won’t get bored at any point.

Landscapes of cliffs and valleys in the Bonnan valley and the Grézelles forest. This route only uses paths and tracks in the middle of unspoilt nature. This is the classic version of the Vallée de Bonnan trail, as described in the Tarn à pied guidebook and on the FFRP information sheets.

A little-used trail to discover a wild part of the Bonnan Valley. Wide tracks and pretty little paths running along both sides of the Bonnan stream offer a different view of the valley.

It is a long circular route connecting Milhars to Roussayrolles, passing behind the Château de la Prune. Hikers will pass through valleys and hilltops amongst the peaceful little villages of the Cordais plateau. Old stone buildings, a decorated church and local heritage sites punctuate a wooded, little-used path.

The route skirts Cordes-sur-Ciel from south to north, offering a variety of views of the city of a hundred spires. The route is rich in contrasting natural environments: the Chapelle Saint-Jean and its wild green setting, the Clayrac millstone cave, the old-fashioned charm of the village of Vindrac, the landscapes of the Causse, and the tranquil banks of the Cérou.

Cordes... a magnificent Albigensian fortified town, to be discovered from the rolling trails of the Causse. PLEASE NOTE: The millstone caves are on private property and access is now prohibited.

A hike between vineyards and hills which enables you to discover a gently undulating landscape where pretty small villages and lovely dovecotes, enhanced by their careful restoration, nestle. The Château-Musée du Cayla which is located on the walk could also provide amateur historians and literature buffs with a splendid cultural stopover, following in the footsteps of Maurice and Eugénie de Guérin, whose correspondence is still famous.

Beautiful trails leading to the highlights and symbolic sites of Cordes, such as the former leprosarium, the Chapelle Saint-Jean and the Croix des Fargues. Panoramic views and numerous vantage points over Cordes punctuate the route halfway through.

A circular route on the Causse plateau leading from the small village of Souel to Cordes-sur-Ciel, through a hilly landscape alternating between vineyards, cultivated fields, meadows and small woods. A pretty lake, a few beautifully restored houses and a small chapel nestled in a valley dot this rural route, not to mention the numerous viewpoints over the town of Cordes, classified as a Grand Site de Midi-Pyrénées.

This hike is a longer version of the hike. The start and finish are the same (points 1 to 7 and 9 to 14 of the short route). A rugged and fairly challenging hike through magnificent landscapes and natural surroundings.

This is a little-used route, reserved for lovers of unspoilt nature. They will walk only on footpaths, through varied landscapes.There are many different viewpoints to discover, including the Bonnan Valley, the Lexos rock, the petrified waterfall and the tumulus-dolmen. Climbs and descents along the cliff edge or through the undergrowth, and scrambling up the Bonnan Stream, will delight the more adventurous.

This route takes you off the beaten track and marked trails, offering numerous viewpoints over the north side of Cordes-sur-Ciel. The path alternates between small hills and valleys. Quiet footpaths make you forget the sections of road you encounter. A GPS is recommended as the route is largely unmarked. The markings you may see are from otherPR® orGR®36trails.

This circular route, which follows wide forest tracks and is completely unchallenging, offers few open views but plenty of shade, which is much appreciated in hot weather. This route is suitable for pushchairs with three large wheels.

For adventurers who love the wilderness. This route will take you across La Grésigne on either side of the D87. You will tread many barely visible paths, avoiding forest tracks and roads as much as possible. Bartas, sections with significant elevation changes and trails trodden by wild boars will delight hikers looking for a challenge and a good workout. .

Vineyards and fields stretch from one stream to the next, dotted with beautiful residences such as the Château-Musée du Cayla, dovecotes and pretty villages. This route guarantees a pleasant half-day out in the countryside.

A walk in the gently rolling countryside of Cahuzac-sur-Vère to discover two charming little churches and two castles, one of which houses a renowned gourmet restaurant. We are in the Gaillac region, and most of the route takes place among vineyards, small woods and cultivated fields.

A short walk through rolling countryside covered with vineyards and meadows. Rural heritage, crosses and dovecotes throughout this route. A short stretch of very shady and quiet road. Yellow markings, not very visible in places.

The Lagarde Castle Trail offers unspoilt landscapes and lush greenery. Running alongside rivers, crops and meadows, crossing streams and brooks, this enchanting trail will take you to the Vère-Grésigne leisure centre.

Follow theGR® 36 trail up the Aveyron river, then take the small country roads back to the village of Laguépie.

A long circular route that follows the course of the Aveyron river via theGR®36and gently returns to Laguépie from the plateau dotted with hamlets and livestock farms.

This walk starts at the Place du Foirail in Laguépie and continues through the village of Saint-Martin-Laguépie, crossing the bridge over the Viaur and following the Ruisseau de Bonnaval to reach the Saint-Pierre plateau, before descending to the Ruisseau de Candour and crossing it. This section follows theGRP® des Gorges du Viaur exactly. The path then heads towards the Viaur, first along the right bank and then the left bank of the Candour, before joining the D9. The walk then climbs to the summit of the Saint-Eugène peninsula to reach the Viaur and returns to Laguépie along the left bank of the river.

Starting from the bridge over the Aveyron, this route offers a gentle climb up to the plateau, enjoying the shade of the Roc d'Anglars, then on to the village of Sainte-Sabine with its pretty houses. All that remains is to slip into the shade and head towards the plain to find the banks of the river and return to Saint-Antonin-Noble-Val.

A loop on the heights of Saint-Antonin-Noble-Val with a passage through the undergrowth, around the Cirque de Nibousou and on the plateau. Beautiful panoramic views of the Cirque de Nibousou and the Gorges de l'Aveyron.

This is a lovely, varied and undulating hike, partly along the banks of the Aveyron, offering superb views of the Cirque de Bône. To reach this viewpoint, you will have to climb the aptly named Côte de Ouf. From the plateau, you will overlook the river and the cirque before starting your return to the pretty village of Saint-Antonin-Noble-Val.

Circuit around Cestayrols, a 12th-century fortified village, through the undergrowth and vine-covered hillsides.

A beautiful hike through vineyards, valleys and hillsides around Cestayrols. A few beautiful residences dot the route and add to its charm. Best done on a beautiful autumn day when the vineyards change colour. There is a little bit of tarmac on this hike, but it is on quiet, bucolic country roads.

A short, unpretentious walk, just to get some fresh air.This trail will take you through a landscape of valleys and small hills planted with vines.Along the way, you'll also find some lovely surprises in the form of small rural heritage sites dotted around the landscape, such as dovecotes and wash houses.

This is a beautiful loop along the banks of the Aveyron River, reaching a surprising viewpoint over the Cirque de Bône. The climb to the viewpoint is a tough one called the Côte de Ouf. Numerous landscapes of Saint-Antonin-Noble-Val and its river await hikers. The return journey passes at the foot of Brousse through pretty woods and, in part, along the Aveyron once again.

This path follows the edge of the Aveyron river and then goes around the Cirque de Bône. There are several viewpoints from which you can admire the Aveyron valley and the limestone cliffs.

This is a loop that will take you up from the banks of the Aveyron to the Grotte de la Gourgue. You will return via the Cirque de Nibouzou. This is a variation of thePR®18.

This hike, starting from one of the most beautiful villages in France, Saint-Antonin-Noble-Val, will also allow you to discover the Gorges de l'Aveyron. This 14 km loop will give you a beautiful view of the limestone plateaus between Rouergue and Quercy. You will also find a place of historical memory with the Maquis d'Ornano.
