Park in the small square by the church in Souel.
The route, which is partly unmarked, shares some sections with theGR®36/46Red-White and thePR® Yellow Causse Trail and Heritage Trail.
No markings
(S/E) With your back to the car park and the church on your right, take the D25 on the right. Ignore a road on the left. At the bend, climb a few metres up the dirt track opposite and turn immediately left onto the grassy track parallel to the road. At the exit onto the meadow on the left, turn left and go around the meadow. The path becomes wide and almost flat. At the first crossroads, go down the path towards the railway line. Go down to the railway line.
(1) Turn onto the path on the right and follow the railway line. When you reach the road, head slightly to the right towards the Rivière lake. Go around the lake and return to the road visible on the left.
(2) At the road, turn right. This will be the longest stretch of road on the route as you have to reach La Favarié and go about 300 m past it.

(3) When you reach theGR®, follow it up to the right, along the wide white dirt track. At the triangular junction, ignore the private road on the right.
(4) 20 m from the triangle, explore the path through the undergrowth on the left.
Follow it in a circular fashion, counter-clockwise, to reach a clearing with a commanding view of the estate known as Château de Clayrac.
After exploring the area, continue along the wide dirt track. At the road, cross over and descend towards the vineyards.

(5) Walk along the left side of the plot opposite, leaving the GR®. The vineyard path leads to the tarmac road in a curve at the entrance to Les Fargues. Turn right, then straight ahead at the crossroads to see the very distinctive Croix des Fargues.
(6) After admiring the cross and the view, retrace your steps. At the fork, keep left on the road that descends towards the lake below. Pass Séguier and, at Péteule, turn right onto the grassy track. Further on, the grass gives way to earth; the path ends at the tarmac road in front of Malbousquet, where it joins theGR®36/46link.

(7) Follow the road to the left. Turn right after the large grey industrial building at the next crossroads. The dirt track passes Piton and ends at a road.
Yellow markings Heritage Trail
(8) Leave theGR®36/46and follow the yellow markings, turning right. Stay on the road until you reach the T-junction after Bouriette. At the junction, turn right and continue for about 100 metres.
(9) At this junction, cross the road to join the Sentier l'Âne qui vole (Flying Donkey Trail).
After a few hundred metres, turn right to visit the Saint-Jean Chapel and Leprosarium.
(10) After your visit, retrace your steps back to the junction. Turn right. The trail passes a wash house on your right, veers slightly into a meadow to go around the hamlet, and continues with the small sign for Sentier de l'Âne qui vole. The path winds its way up and down to the T-junction with Sentier du Causse.

(11) Leave the Sentier du Patrimoine by turning right and following the reverse markings of the Sentier du Causse. This is a wide track that leads to meadows on the left.
Take the time to turn around and admire the bell tower of the Chapelle de Sarmazes.
At the crossroads with the road, cross it and continue on the grass opposite. Shortly afterwards, the track becomes white earth and pebbles and descends into the valley, ignoring the paths that lead off from it, then crosses a stream.
(12) After the stream, turn left and follow the sign for Souel. The same track climbs up to La Bouriette. At the road, turn right towards the equestrian centre. After 50 metres, in front of the horse paddock, turn immediately left onto the dirt track and follow the paddock. After two bends, the straight track ends on tarmac at the entrance to Souel and leads to the car park (S/E).
