Start from the tennis court car park on the RD958 (or Avenue du Docteur Paul Benet).
(S/E) Follow it northwards for about a hundred metres, running alongside the school grounds, until you reach the corner of Rue de la Cote du Rodanèze. Turn onto this relatively straight, uphill street.
(1) After Avenue du Roc Deyme, leave the return path on your right and carry on straight ahead. At the first hairpin bend on the left, near a water tank, stay on the road which continues to climb up the hillside and takes a wide right-hand bend.
(2) At a mobile phone mast, take a path through the woodland on the left. At a crossroads, turn left again. The path opens out onto a balcony overlooking the cirque and skirts round it, offering unobstructed views of the village and the Gorges de l’Aveyron.
(3) At a junction of paths, turn right into the woodland, leaving the cirque behind you.
Alternative route: you can continue to the left, heading due west, to walk alongside the cirque, then further on, heading due north, into the woodland and rejoin the route at (4). This adds about 2 km to the walk.
(4) At the end of the path, turn right at the T-junction onto a tarmac road. Follow this to the hamlet of Bosc de la Cam.
(5) At the end of the track, take the tarmac road on the right (there is an alternative route to the left to visit the Bosc caves). Follow this road, go round the 90° bend and carry on straight ahead.
(6) Take the road on the right towards Clost de Mérigot.
(7) At a cross, leave the road as it curves to the right and take the path opposite. After a flat section, the path descends along the ridge, offering another view of the Aveyron Gorges, and leads into the Rodanèze housing estate.
(8) Turn right onto the road, then left onto a path that descends and passes between the houses to rejoin Rue de la Cote du Rodanèze.
(1) Follow it down to the left until you reach the starting point (S/E).
