Circular route starting from La Ginibrière

A walk offering a variety of landscapes, with a beautiful view over the Gaillac plain. Then a walk through a very pretty hamlet and, to finish, a trail through the forest offering a change of scenery.
Note: the ride involves a significant elevation gain; we start by descending and then climb back up.

Description of the walk

Park at a place called La Ginibrière.

(S/E) Head due east and you’ll soon reach the GRP® Cordes-Penne-Coustous trail.

(1) Turn right onto it at the bins and head straight south. Follow the yellow and red markings to reach the D8.

(2) Keep to the right on this road, pass the hamlet of La Dugarié, and you’ll come to a crossroads at the end.

(3) Leave the GRP® here, turn right, and cross the hamlet of Candèze. Head slightly downhill, following the stream, and join it at a wash house.

(4) Cross the stream, then begin the climb through the Bois de Rouyre. Stay on this path, ignoring the branches to the right and left. Reach the summit of the Pech de Rossignol.

(5) Turn slightly left onto the path marked by a stone marker. Continue, climbing very gently, until you reach the mobile phone mast.

(6) Then turn left onto the stony path to complete the descent to the Ginibrière car park (S/E).
