Access from the A20 motorway, exit Caussade towards Saint-Antonin via the D958. The hike starts at the entrance to Saint-Antonin when arriving via the D958 (car park on the left). Turn left and follow the GR®46 signs (red and white). Climb up the Way of the Cross to the chapel at an altitude of 292 metres, then continue west to the crossroads.
(1) Leave the GR®46 on your right and continue straight ahead (west) just before taking a path on your right to avoid entering private property. You will rejoin the D958
(2) Cross the road to stop at the Belvédère du Cirque de Bône viewpoint overlooking the Gorges de l'Aveyron (orientation table).
(3) Follow the PR®25 trail (not "Retour PR®25!"). You will find an information panel about the Maquis d'Ornano. Continue along this well-marked trail.
(4) You have reached a parachute drop zone that was used to supply the Ornano maquis. An information panel and a memorial stone bring this place of remembrance to life. Continue along the trail, following the PR®25 signs.
(5) Turn left and follow a path that descends in the shade parallel to a stream before joining the road (D115).
(6) Cross the road and take a path on the right that runs alongside the road above the Aveyron.
(7) At the end of the bridge over the Aveyron, before the road tunnel, take the path on the left.
(8) On your right, you will pass a very steep path marked "Interdit" (No Entry), which has become too dangerous. Continue on the first path above the Aveyron River. Be careful if the ground is slippery (do not look down if you are afraid of heights).
(9) Leave the road and turn left, following the GR® to cross the hamlet of Vieil Four.
(10) The GR® crosses the road and offers a good climb to reach the ridges: beautiful view of the Aveyron valley. Leave several paths on the right and left to reach a crossroads of four paths.
(11) Turn left at a right angle and follow the GR® to begin the fairly steep descent through the forest towards Saint-Antonin-Noble-Val.
(12) Cross the D115 and turn right to follow a small road that leads back to Saint-Antonin.
(13) Take the bridge on the left and wander through the narrow streets of the medieval town centre at your leisure before returning to the car park at the starting point.
