This is an easy hike that we did with children aged 7 and 10. Maximum duration: 2 hours.
Chorsin waterfall and tall grass
A magnificent and fairly easy circuit. Shaded in its first section, it allows you to discover the beautiful Chorsin waterfall and then reaches the plateau of tall grasses before quickly returning to its starting point. The circuit is well signposted with information panels.

Pierre sur Haute via the Molinvé shepherd's huts

Route des Loges on the Hautes Chaumes
The lodges or shepherd's huts, located on the Hautes Chaumes, were summer pasture buildings from May to October.
To get to the start of the hike, after passing the hamlet of Nermond, 200 m away, in a straight line, at the crossroads of this road with the Route de la Combe on the right, turn more to the right and take a stony path, heading for the calvary. Park at the bottom or in the cornfields on the left-hand side of the uphill path.
Route of the Fraisse Chapel via Mont Sémiol
This route passes near an ancient volcano, Mont Sémiol, which offers beautiful views of the Forez plain from its heights, then continues to the Fraisse Chapel at an altitude of 1,012 metres.
The basalt columns of Puy de Chavanne and the Ligeay waterfalls
Starting from the village of Palogneux, this route takes you past the basalt columns of the Puy de Chavanne, before continuing on to the Ligeay waterfalls. The route then follows a circular route along theGR®89to the village of Les Places, before returning to the village via the Goutte Crémière and the Épeurios.

Starting from the LPO car park, after taking in the exceptional views, you’ll walk through pretty hamlets and beautiful forests.

On the plateaus and the summit of Pierre-sur-Haute
A long and extensive snowshoe walk (on foot or on cross-country skis) across the vast plateaus and valleys to the west of Pierre-sur-Haute, followed by an ascent to the summit to take in the view.
The Stone with Seven Holes
From the car park at the Col de Baracuchet, situated 6 km from the village of Lérigneux via the D113, you’ll enjoy a stunning view of the peaks of the Haute-Loire and Mont Mézenc. This walk (PR®20) will take you past the Pierre aux Sept Trous and close to the Grande Pierre Bazanne.
