Park at Place des Écureuils.
(S/E) Go round the church on the right and take the small staircase to reach the D113-2. Turn right towards Montbrison.
(1) At the cemetery, leave the D113-2 and turn left towards Essertines. Keep right at the three-way junction.
(2) Turn left before the cross and continue along the Roman road for about 2 km.
(3) At the tarmac road, turn right for 50 m then veer left. Follow this road, negotiate the right-hand bend then take the path that descends to the left between the houses. You will reach a junction at a place called Cantéol Bas.
(4) Continue to the right and take the first path on the left to Moulin Palais.
(5) At the entrance to the hamlet, take the first path on the right and head up to Font Royet.
(6) Cross the small tarmac road and take the path opposite until you reach the road leading to Contéol.
(7) Follow this road in the same direction, keep to the right at the cross towards Prassouroux and continue to the hairpin bend.
(8) Take the path on the left leading to Fougerolles.
(9) Continue straight on towards La Loge, then turn left onto a dirt track towards Lérigneux. Turn left a second time into the pine forest and rejoin the D113-2.
(10) Cross it carefully, then pass through Le Cotayet and arrive at the hamlet of Champblanc Sud. Continue to the D44.
(11) Turn right, then cross carefully and head towards the hamlet of Frédifont. Turn left at the corner of the large building and continue towards Puy de Montchaud and Viallard. You will come to a small road.
(12) Follow it by turning right and cross through Viallard.
(13) Turn left after the last house and the large sequoia and climb slightly until you reach a four-way junction (elevation 1029m). Take the path on the right.
(14) Once you reach the hamlet of Le Fay, head down to the right towards Lérigneux along the tarmac road.
(15) Turn right onto Rue de la Fougère to join the D44 and continue left to return to Place des Écureuils. (S/E)
