Park at Place des Écureuils, near the town hall in Lérigneux.
(S/E) Turn left onto the Route de Roche (D44), then take the first path on the right. Walk through the hamlet of Le Mas to join the tarmac path and the Route de Roche.
(1) Turn right. Take the tarmac track on the left and head towards the hamlet of La Rochette.
(2) At the top of the hill, take the first path on the right.
Cross the clearing and follow the path through the woodland, then the track lined with dry stone walls. To the right, there’s a lovely view over the Forez plain. Join the Route de Baracuchet (D113) and cross it.
When you reach the departmental road, turn left and then follow the small path to the left of the road.
Continue along the path below the road to the hamlet of Dovézy. Pass a drinking trough.
(3) At the entrance to the hamlet of Dovézy, turn left and follow the Chemin du Moulin. At the entrance gate to property no. 67, take the path leading down to the left (caution: difficult section: stony path and running water).
At the bottom of the path, before crossing the stream, the ruins of an old mill are still visible on the right.
Head uphill towards the hamlet of Le Fay, with lovely views over the village of Lérigneux and the Forez plain.
(4) On reaching Le Fay, take the small grassy path on the right. When you reach the tarmac road, turn left, cross the hamlet and head back down towards the Ruisseau de Cotayet via the Chemin du Fay. There’s a lovely view of the Alps.
(5) Cross a bridge and head back up towards the village. On reaching Lérigneux, turn right onto Rue de la Fougère. At the wash house, turn left, cross a road and head back up towards Place des Ecureuils (S/E).
