Le Mont-Dieu walks

Starting from the Chartreuse du Mont-Dieu, this family-friendly circular walk takes you along a pleasant forest path in the heart of the national forest. The route offers a peaceful immersion in a preserved natural environment and allows you to discover the monumental barn of La Corrérie and the Château de la Barbière, which bear witness to the site's rich heritage and history.

This circular route invites you to discover the surroundings of the Chartreuse du Mont-Dieu along a pleasant forest path. Accessible to the whole family, the route winds its way through wooded areas and offers a peaceful immersion in a preserved natural environment. Throughout the hike, the rich heritage of the site is revealed, combining monastic history and remarkable landscapes.

The Chartreuse du Mont-Dieu was built in a vast 24-hectare clearing in the middle of a huge 1,123-hectare forest, whose springs feed the numerous ponds. We invite you to explore this wooded, hilly region, as well as the park and the rear of the charterhouse.

A family-friendly route with no elevation gain, between a leisure centre and a Natura 2000 classified biodiversity reserve. A classic that never gets old!

Enjoy the Vendresse State Forest, remarkable for its many species and rows of Douglas fir trees. Take in the view of the vast Bar valley and the Ardennes canal before descending towards Omicourt. Climb back up to return to the Bar valley. Walk along the Rouge Cogneux and discover its resurgent springs. Return to the "Domaniale".

This countryside route starting from Autruche takes you across open fields to a remarkable viewpoint over the Tourbières de la Bar, a Natura 2000 classified natural site. Interpretive panels provide a better understanding of the ecological richness of these exceptional wetlands. An accessible and informative hike, ideal for lovers of nature and biodiversity, to discover a preserved natural heritage.

As part of the art event "Ma dernière chemise" (My Last Shirt) created by Sam Peeters (a resident of Omont), you are invited to walk or cycle from the Omont wash house to the La Horgne wash house. The wash houses will host a temporary exhibition of works of art. These country lanes in the heart of the Crêtes Préardennaises will give you a beautiful glimpse of the region, its forests, its hedgerows and its villages. Please note: this online hike requires two vehicles if you do not want to walk back (18 km round trip).

Traces of the Knights Templar dot this path, rich in geological mysteries and legends. Here, you can understand how these monk-knights shaped their surroundings and the forest. Follow the yellow footpath markings, No. 14.

Forest route between Boult-aux-Bois and La Croix-aux-Bois.Set in a magnificent forest, this route largely follows the Sentier des Templiers (PR®14 of the Argonne Ardennaise Community of Communes). This trail is dotted with large, unusual sandstone blocks. These magnificent blocks mark the perimeter ditch that delimited the forest of the Commandery established in Boult-aux-Bois inthe 12th century.Along the way, you will pass the Fontaine aux Grès, the Blanche Borne, the Borne de Justice, the Gros Grès and the Malassises. All these places are evocative of Boux's past.

The Sentier de la Linette is a pleasant walk suitable for the whole family, ideal for exploring the forest at a leisurely pace. Mostly shaded, it winds through the heart of the woods to the Étang de la Linette, a peaceful natural haven nestled in a preserved environment. All along the route, information boards invite young and old alike to learn more about the wildlife, flora and majestic trees that make up this beautiful forest. A fun and rejuvenating route, perfect for learning whilst you walk.

The Col de la Marfée, the village of Chaumont and its superb inscriptions on the pediments of the houses, panoramic views of Cheuveuges, the Meuse valley and Sedan: this is what awaits you on this walk, which takes you effortlessly through meadows, fields and forest.

The Buzancy Mountain Bike Odyssey is a challenging, demanding route designed for thrill seekers and those who enjoy a good challenge. It follows beautiful rural paths offering sweeping views of the surrounding countryside, between valleys and open horizons. Throughout the route, the ride is an invitation to discover the local heritage, with the chapel of Masmes, the outbuildings of Château Augeard, and beautiful typical villages such as Autruche, Fossé and Saint-Pierremont, identifiable by their numerous elegant yellow stone houses.

The route starts in the charming village of Toges, before heading into the woods and offering beautiful views of the surrounding countryside. It then leads to the hamlet of La Noue Adam, a timeless place where the calm and authenticity give the impression that time has stood still. An ideal walk to recharge your batteries and share a moment of discovery in all simplicity.

Walk through the Élan forest amidst splendid spruce and beech trees. In the footsteps of Saint Roger, who founded Élan Abbey in 1148 (now destroyed) and the miraculous fountain that cures infertility and heartbreak. Also in the footsteps of Father Meslier, who served in Étrépigny, Balaives and Butz from 1689 to 1729 and was an atheist and revolutionary.

A walk around the lake in November, shrouded in mist, with a detour through the town centre and the renovated old quarters, then back along the canal, admiring the reflections of the bourgeois houses in its dark waters.
