Description of the walk

Parking available at Place de la Mairie

Follow the yellow footpath markings no. 12.

(S/E) From Place de la Mairie in Toges, follow Rue de l'Église and pass to the right of the church. Take the path carved into the rock and climb up to the entrance to the woods. Shortly afterwards, you will reach a four-way crossroads.

(1) Go straight ahead and continue straight on the main path until you reach the next multiple crossroads (IGN elevation 177).

(2) Take the sunken path opposite and continue to a large crossroads.

(3) Turn at a right angle and take the path furthest to the right. Then continue straight ahead. At the next crossroads, continue straight ahead along the edge of the national forest and you will come out onto the D319.

(4) Go up to the left and then carefully venture to the right onto a wide forest path a few dozen metres further on. Leave the grassy path by turning left and continue on the right on the forest road. Keep walking straight ahead. The path then borders pastures until you reach Caunoy.

(5) In Caunoy, pass in front of the statue of the Virgin Mary and continue on a small road on the right leading to La Noue Adam. You will arrive at a crossroads.

(6) Turn left to finish crossing the hamlet and then leave it. Enter the undergrowth and continue straight ahead until you reach the five-way crossroads.

(7) Turn left at a right angle, walk 500 metres on flat ground before descending to Toges via a path carved into the gaize. You will come out onto the D319.

(8) Walk along it (carefully) on the left and return to the Place de la Mairie (S/E).

What a shame the paths have been churned up by the foresters – it could have been an even nicer walk.
