Vouziers Canal and the Paquis Circular Loop in Vouziers

It is very easy to park your car in the streets of the village of Vouziers near the bridge.

(S/E) Take the footbridge leading down to the path between the Aisne and the railway line. Head towards the lock to start walking along the Canal de l’Aisne.

(1) From the lock, you can see the former Saint-Paul flour mill building on the banks of the Aisne
Walk along the Canal de l’Aisne to the level crossing.

(2) Cross it and head towards Condé-lès-Vouziers, walking up Rue Tabure to the junction and turning right onto Rue du Petit Châtelet.

(3) When you reach the church, walk down Avenue Charles de Gaulle and then turn left onto Rue des Paquis / Chemin des Paquis (the path is marked at times with a sign reading ‘Circular Path of Paquis’).
Follow this path alongside the private gardens.

(4) Cross the Muette.

(5) A few hundred metres after crossing the Pont de la Muette, turn right to head up the field at the small sign for “Circular Route of Paquis”. Then turn right again at the top of the field.
Follow the path to the D983.

(6) Turn right to head back towards the village of Condé-lès-Vouziers.

(7) At the old town hall and school, turn left onto Rue Claude Phe, then take Rue Tabure to reach the canal.

(2) Turn right to rejoin the path running alongside the canal, head back towards Vouziers and complete the circular route (S/E).
