From Brassac, take the D622 towards Lacaune. In the village of Ouillats, leave the road and turn right towards the old convent, taking care on the fairly difficult hairpin bend. Once at the convent, turn left into a narrow passage between two buildings and head for the car park next to the small cemetery.
YellowPR® markings
(S/E) Go back down to the old convent and turn left. Watch out for the farm dogs running loose just after, which are more impressive than vicious, but can be a little off-putting for passing hikers.
Pass two paths on your left and you will come to a fork where you should turn right. At the next intersection, ignore the wide path on the right that descends towards the D622 and continue straight ahead. The path narrows and runs between two beautiful holly hedges to join a small road opposite a house.
(1) Turn right and descend to the D622 at the entrance to the village of Biot. Turn left onto the pavement, which allows you to walk safely, and you will reach the start of a wide right-hand bend.
(2) Leave the road and turn left onto a grassy path at a beautiful stone cross. Climb the steep slope to reach the small tarmac road that serves the few houses in Le Bousquet.
(3) After the last house, leave the road and take a wide path on the right, marked by a slate sign saying "Puech Margot - Le Clap". Ignore a path on the left and continue through an old woodland clearing dotted with magnificent foxgloves in season. Continue straight ahead at the next intersection to reach a hairpin bend on the left.
No markings
(4) Leave the yellowPR® markings and take the path downhill to the right. Pass four paths on the right and arrive at a clearly marked three-way junction.
(5) Continue straight ahead on a section that can be very muddy after heavy rain. At the fork near a spring (incorrectly marked on the IGN map), take the right-hand branch uphill and do the same at the next fork. Then leave a faint path on the right and you will reach a junction 100 metres further on.

(6) Turn left, ignore a path on the left blocked by a steel bar and continue along a beautiful mossy stone wall to reach a new fork at a pile of firewood and an area literally carpeted with wild strawberries....

(7) Turn left at the hairpin bend, then turn right at a 90° angle about 100 metres further on. The path is blocked by an iron cable, which can easily be bypassed on the right. Turn left at the first intersection, then right at the next one to reach a beautiful, well-maintained forest road.
(8) Turn right onto this road and continue until it begins a wide right-hand bend (sign 30 on a tree on the right). Then take the wide path that climbs up to the left, leading to a fairly open ridge where the space is shared between small regrowing conifers, broom and tall foxgloves. Cross a first forest track, then a second, finally reaching a third at some large piles of logs.
(9) Turn left, then right 100 metres further on, leaving this wide track, which has been rutted by machinery, for a path overgrown with grass. The latter runs alongside a meadow on the left, turns 90° to the right and joins a T-junction. Turn left. At the next fork (not shown on the IGN map), obey the Private Property sign, turn left and continue to a junction.
(10) It is not possible to go straight ahead as the IGN map suggests. Turn right to come out onto a small road with very little traffic. Turn left and follow this winding road, ignoring the various turnings on the left and right that lead to farms, until you reach a small pass where there is a car park, an information panel about the "Hautes Terres d'Oc" (Highlands of Oc), a wooden shelter and toilets.

(11) Turn right, walk along the car park and follow a section of the Puech Margot fitness trail. The path is flat, in open terrain with magnificent views to the right, particularly of the Puech du Singladou wind farm. Reach the intersection that marks the start of the fitness trail, continue straight ahead and follow the wide track that goes around Puech Margot to arrive at a small tarmac road.
(12) Turn right downhill, reach an information panel on the Croix de Saint-Julien du Clap and leave the road to take a wide track on the left. Follow this track to the Croix de Saint-Julien, which offers a beautiful view, albeit partially obscured by overgrown vegetation.
(13) Turn back and, after a hairpin bend to the right, keep an eye out for the start of the path on the left, marked in yellow. This path descends steeply and has some sections that are a bit tough on the legs at the end of the route. At a small round chapel nestled in the woods on the left, the trail gives way to a small tarmac road which leads to the car park at the start of the walk a few dozen metres away (S/E).
