The Three Villages Trail from Le Bez

A hiking trail, winding through open countryside, woodland and along the riverbank, which connects the hamlets of the commune or links up with other walks and villages in the area.

The ‘Lo camin dels tres vilatges del Beç’ is a long and beautiful route, alternating between countryside and woodland, guiding you through varied landscapes along cool sunken paths, shaded tracks or hidden descents, close to the stunning rocks of the Sidobre, in a landscape with pronounced relief but without great difficulty. You’ll enjoy beautiful views, peaceful valleys, the proximity of the waters of the Agout, and, throughout, exceptional tranquillity.

Description of the walk

(S/E) At the small car park 100 m from the Town Hall, take the path to the left of the starting sign. Turn right into Rue Vieille, then left into Rue du Plo de Catussou. Walk past the church and join the D30.

(1) Cross it carefully and take the dirt track opposite. Ignore the path on the right and, at the next junction, continue straight on, below the embankment, until you reach the D93.

(2) Cross the junction with care and walk along the D30 on the opposite side. At the first road, turn left and then head downhill to the left towards the hamlet of La Martinié.

(3) At the first building, turn right onto a path that climbs up to the hamlet of Malout.

(4) Take the path on the left between the last buildings. Turn left onto the road and, at the next bend, take the path on the right uphill. At the next junction, turn right and join the D622 at Bel Air.

(5) Before the crossroads, go round the house via the back of the oven, carefully follow the right-hand verge until you reach the coach stop. Cross the main road with care, go round the bus shelter, and take the small road. Here, there is a short alternative route (12 km): see practical information. You will cometo a fork.

(6) Turn left onto a sunken lane that passes under the Chinchoularié to reach the hamlet of La Bayourte.

(7) Keep to the right. At the last houses, continue along the dirt track, passing the pumping station to reach Le Verdier.

(8) Turn left then right, heading up the steeply sloping street to join a dirt track. At the four-way junction, take the left-hand path to a clearing. Before the sheepfold, turn left onto the new track cut through the forest clearing, and descend to the stream.

(9) Continue along the right bank on the track that overlooks the stream and winds through the valley. Further on, turn left, cross the stream, and head up the other bank.

(10) Take the first path on the left and the next one on the right. Join the road leading to Frescatis.

(11) Turn left onto the road. After the second hairpin bend, take the path up to the right.

(12) At the crossroads (marked by a cross), turn left, then right, and take the road opposite leading to Guior Haut. Take the path on the right that descends to the small pond. To the left of the pond, follow the path leading back up to the village, then head right towards the church.

(13) Connection to the Maison du Sidobre possible (see practical information). Otherwise, go round the church on the right, pass the bread oven, and take the path lined with standing stones. Cross the D66 with care, and continue straight ahead. At La Sagne de Satjé, turn right, following the property dotted with Sidobre rocks. You will reach a road.

(14) Turn left and, at the crossroads, right towards Guior-Bas. At the entrance to the hamlet, take the dirt track on the left, between the buildings. Cross the hamlet by turning right, then continue left until the end.

(15) Head down the dirt track on the left towards the Agout. Take the first path on the left, then turn right at the next junction.

(16) Continue straight on along the Agout until you reach its bend. Cross a stream and arrive at a fork.

(17) Turn left, then immediately right. Walk past La Grélarié and join the road in front of the Belfortès gate.

(18) Follow the road to the bend opposite La Vergne. From here, you can reach Saint-Agnan by road, 1.3 km away.

(19) At the bend, take the path on the right. Near the stream, continue straight on to Combe Rouge. Take the road on the right in the village. At the next fork, head down to the left towards Guzanes.

(20) Continue, passing the wayside shrine. Cross the D622 at the designated crossing and follow the path on the left uphill. You will reach the D93.

(21) Cross the road with care and take the path on the left that passes under a power line.

(22) Just before the stream, turn right, ignoring the path on the left. Turn right again, before Les Cabanes, then left, towards the road.

(23) Cross the road and continue straight ahead. Cross the stream and head up towards the hamlet of Belfort.

(24) When you reach the road, take the path on the right, below, which leads back to the village of Le Bez. At the end, turn right towards the car park (S/E).

Good evening, everyone.
Here is a superb hike that can be enjoyed in any season.
The paths are wide and extremely well maintained, with numerous signposts as there are many hiking trails that cross each other
. There are beautiful residences nestled along the banks of the Agout River.
But above all, particular care has been taken to maintain the paths.
a magnificent hike.

A pleasant hike along beautiful trails with stunning views from the hills—you won't get bored. The landscape is very varied, with mountains, meadows and the banks of the Agout River. Picnic around noon at Guyor Haut, with benches and tables available. Beautiful Belfortes property along the way and a view of a castle we don't know?
Quite well signposted, and no problems with the Visorando app.
Thanks to the tourist office

This route was completed on Tuesday, 9 September 2025 in overcast weather, with fog at the start, but it was still very pleasant. It was a shame to have done it with poor visibility; I'll have to do it again in good weather. A beautiful alternation of woods, pastures, hamlets, and a passage over the Agoût. The markings are very satisfactory (surprising that for recent markings, the colour has already faded).
There are also missing signs on the posts, already removed by people with bad intentions.
Why this name, when in the end there are only two villages: Le Bez and Guyor?
I recommend it
