Description of the walk

Park in the town hall car park.

(S/E) With your back to the town hall, take the Saint-Jacques de Compostelle path, Rue des Filtres, and follow the yellow markings (Rampaillou) and the red and white GR® markings.

(1) At the start of the path, you can fill your water bottle at the spring located near the picnic table and benches and admire the village, the last buildings and the textile factory that manufactures high-quality fabrics. Continue along the same street and look for a small reservoir with a mini waterfall.

(2) Follow the stream as you climb a steep hill.

(3) At the hairpin bend, leave the GR® and the yellow markings and continue straight ahead on a small hiking trail towards the ruins of Clauzet. You will come to a fork in the road.

(4) Turn right, cross the Rivallou stream, then immediately turn left and continue straight ahead to reach the ruins of Clauzet.

(5) Leave the ruins on your left and take the path that climbs to the left towards the hunters' crossroads.

(6) Turn right onto the second path heading west to return to Boissezon via the ridge: this is followed by the descent to the village. Then take the path on the left.

(7) At the intersection, continue to the right, ignoring the path on the left, and continue straight ahead. You will reach a tarmac track.

(8) Follow this road, pass a cemetery on your left and you will come out onto Rue de la Salette.

(9) Follow this street to the right and arrive at the town hall car park (S/E).

We met some hunters, but we saw a deer being chased by their dogs.
We looked for the trail markers
Beautiful woodland with autumn colours

Ease of following the route : ★☆☆☆☆ Very disappointing
Route interest : ★★★☆☆ Average
Very busy route : No

Markings absent most of the time. Path sometimes not maintained. Between points 5 and 7, aberration of the route in a steep descent on a bed of pine needles (very dangerous). In fact, no maintenance of the "so-called path".
Don't forget your GPS.
Mostly in the forest, very few viewpoints, even though the region could offer some.
We won't be doing it again.
