Granges-d'Ans walks

Hike from the centre of Granges d'Ans, through the countryside along pretty communal paths and a few tarmac sections. Enjoy the landscapes and views of the hills. Don't hesitate to take a few detours to see the wash houses.

On this route, you can choose between three circular walks. This walk is shaded.

This loop, mainly through woodland, will take you to some of the Périgord Noir's lesser-known châteaux: Saint-Rabier, Rastignac, Larres and Le-Maine. A steep climb will take you to the heights of Larres from Taravellou. The return journey is on a gentler slope through the village of La-Chapelle-Saint-Jean. There is a bit of tarmac at the start and finish, but overall there are far more paths than roads.

A superb walk, mostly through woodland with very little road. Walk around Peyrignac and its hamlets, enjoying the peace and quiet of the forest.

A beautiful hike covering many kilometres but with little elevation gain. Pleasant paths between low walls and woods, especially after the hamlet of Beauzens. Interesting village, churches, castle, hamlet of Beauzens, stele.

A long, peaceful hike in the Barade National Forest (barradaen occitan: closed): calm, wind in the branches, birdsong... It mainly follows firebreaks, with few roads. Moderate elevation gain.

This is a circular route in the Yssandonnais region, alternating between footpaths and deserted roads, which allows you to admire the magnificent village of Saint-Robert and a fountain dedicated to a martyr.

Circular route starting from the hamlet of Tranche, in the commune of Terrasson. Most of the route is on paths, starting from the hamlet where you can park your vehicle, then across the Foncillières and Brungidour plateau, well known to local hikers and mountain bikers. Woods, limestone plateaus, open views, high up at the start, then descent to the charming village of Condat, which you can visit by walking around it. Return via the D62 through Condat, then climb back up to the plateau via other paths.

Circular cycle route loop no. 8 starting from Montignac-Lascaux. A treat for the eyes and the legs! This circular takes you through charming villages, rolling countryside and hilltop castles. You will pass through Coly Saint-Amand, famous for its abbey, as well as the villages of La Chapelle-Aubareil and Valojoulx. Perfect for combining the pleasures of sport with wonder!

Circular cycle route loop no. 11 starting from Montignac-Lascaux. The perfect choice for a peaceful and accessible ride! This flat route runs alongside the Vézère river and immerses you in a bucolic atmosphere. You will pass through the charming village of Aubas and in front of the Château de Sauvebœuf, adding a touch of heritage to this getaway. Ideal for a family outing or a gentle warm-up.

Expect some beautiful climbs, a few gravel sections and, above all, breathtaking views of the valley. Ideal for exploring the Montignac countryside, this outing is not to be missed!

Circular cycle route no. 9, starting from Montignac-Lascaux A demanding route, but a delight for cycling enthusiasts! With steep climbs, shaded passages and iconic villages, this route promises an unforgettable experience. You will pass close to remarkable sites, as well as the village of Fanlac, made famous by the story of Jacquou le Croquant. A great way to challenge yourself while enjoying the scenery!

A short walk around Montignac's two prehistoric sites: the famous Lascaux cave and the Régourdou site.This walk starts in the village and takes you to the top of the hill where the famous Lascaux cave is located. You can visit this site as well as the Régourdou site. The return to the village offers a splendid view of the valley.

In Saint-Mesmin, you can see a church that houses a magnificent 17th-century altarpiece.Take the Côtes du Batissou trail with a view of the Auvezère Gorges to reach the forges and blast furnace of Savignac-Lédrier.You will pass through Bourg Savignac-Lédriers and head towards Saint-Mesmin, passing in front of the Fontaine du bon Saint-Mesmin fountain, then you will reach the "Saut Ruban" and return to Saint-Mesmin along the Auvezère tributary.

Set off from Saint-Mesmin, a hub for technical but magnificent hikes. Explore the superb Forêt Domaniale de Born and enjoy a bite to eat on a stone table by the Étang de Born. Take a tour of the hills before descending into the Auvézère valley to test your skills in the face of nature on a wild trail that will take you back to your starting point. The last part of this hike is strongly discouraged for beginners. Don't panic, an alternative, marked route is suggested in the description: don't take any unnecessary risks.

A very pretty circular route starting from the village of Coly, which will take you close to the Manoir de Hautegente and the Château de Coly.
