A demanding route, but a delight for cycling enthusiasts! With steep climbs, shaded passages and iconic villages, this route promises an unforgettable experience. You will pass close to remarkable sites, as well as the village of Fanlac, made famous by the story of Jacquou le Croquant. A great way to challenge yourself while enjoying the scenery!

Description of the route

Departure from Place Bertran de Born.

(S/E) With your back to the cinema, take the street on the right and pass the Saint-George-du-Prieuré Church to reach the junction with Avenue de Lascaux.

(1) Turn right towards La Chapelle Aubareil until you reach Rue de la Fontaine des Pères.

(2) Turn right onto this street, heading towards Valojoulx (cycle route), until you reach the next junction.

(3) Turn left towards Maison de l'enfance, then turn right onto Chemin de Gouny, still heading towards Maison de l'enfance, and continue straight on until you reach the river.

(4) At the stop sign, take the road on the left and follow the Vézère river downstream until the road veers away from it. You will then come to a fork with the Route des Moulins. (Losse Castle is on the other bank).

(5) Turn left onto the C3 towards Valojoulx and Rue du Bourg.

(6) Pass to the right of the church, then to the right in front of the town hall and the village hall to reach Route de la Pandie. Leave the village via this road (straight ahead) and continue to the junction with Route du Masnègre.

(7) Continue straight ahead to reach a pond and Route des Ruisseau, located after the pond.

(8) Turn right onto this road to reach Route des Sols.

(9) Turn left towards Castel Merle. Continue to the stop sign on Route de la Vézère.

(10) Turn left towards Les Eyzies. Continue until you reach the post box and Route des Chemins Verts.

(11) At the post box, turn right towards Le Béarnais. Follow this road until you reach the stop sign on the D66/Route de Sous le Roc.

(12) Take the road on the left and continue to the village of Peyzac-le-Moustier.

(13) Turn right, then drive past La Roque Saint-Christophe and reach Route de Sous le Roc.

(14) Take the road on the right to cross the bridge over the Vézère, towards Le Moustier and Route du Moustérien, then turn left towards Rouffignac. Drive to Route du Moulin du Peuch (signposted Fleurac).

(15) Turn left at the crossroads.

(16) Château du Peuch. Stay on the road until you reach the give way sign.

(17) Continue right towards Fleurac until you reach another fork.

(18) Continue along the road, keeping to the left, until you reach the D31.

(19) Turn right onto the departmental road at the stone cross. Keep going until you reach the signs for La Mouchardie and Plazac (cycle route).

(20) Turn right onto Route de la Mouchardie and head towards the hamlet. Go through the hairpin bend towards Plazac and continue to the junction with the D6 (Route de Fanlac).

(21) At the stop sign, turn opposite towards Fanlac, then take the first road on the left to continue on Route de Fanlac until you reach the Quatre Cendriers crossroads.

(22) Continue straight ahead, then turn right towards Fanlac and the Route du Mémorial.

(23) At the well, continue left towards Montignac until you reach Route de Fanlac.

(24) At the give way sign, take the road on the right until you reach the crossroads with the "Montignac" sign.

(25) Continue straight ahead towards the village until you reach Rue de la Liberté at the cemetery.

(26) Turn right onto Rue de la Liberté and continue straight ahead until you reach the bridge. Cross the bridge and continue straight ahead on Rue du 4 Septembre until you reach Place Bertrand de Born (S/E).
