Châteauroux-les-Alpes walks
Mont Guillaume
This is a pleasant route to one of the main and most beautiful viewpoints of Lake Serre-Ponçon.
Due to the large number of intersections, I recommend using the Visorando app.
Mont Orel
Mont Orel overlooks Embrun. It can be reached via the Col de la Coche. Walk along the peaks to the crosses. Magnificent view of the Lac de Serre-Ponçon, the surrounding valleys and the Écrins in the distance. A gentler descent via the Pra Leydon chapel. A hike that ends with a contemplative stroll through the Saluces Forest. A very quiet hike apart from a few chamois at the summit.
The only slight difficulty is finding the cairns in the mountain pastures.
Lac de L'Hivernet
A pretty little lake in a green setting above Embrun and at the foot of the Tête de l'Hivernet (2,824 m).
Mont Guillaume and Col de Trempa-Latz from Les Muandes de Bourlinche
The ascent of Mont Guillaume and its ridges via the Sentier des Pépinières trail from the Bourlinche car park.
Embrun - From the lake to the cliff
A lovely little walk, almost entirely flat, which will take you from the shores of Lake Serre-Ponçon to the foot of the Embrun cliff.
Views of the lake and the gardens and orchards at the foot of the cliff.
Tour of the small lake of Embrun
Embrun is a town located in the heart of the Durance Valley. Rich in history, it is located not far from Lake Serre-Ponçon. There is a small lake next to it. Walking around it is a pleasant stroll, with views of the surrounding mountains, including Pic de Morgon and Mont Guillaume. It is a walk that can be enjoyed with young children.
The Tête de Vautisse
This is an accessible hike that takes you to an altitude of 3,000 metres. But be careful at the end, as the climb is steep and slippery on the rocks.
Belvédère de l'Homme de Pierre
This is a beautiful route with no real difficulties, offering magnificent scenery along most of the way. The 360° view from the Homme de Pierre viewpoint is truly spectacular. The Martinat ridge also offers superb panoramic views.
Two small abandoned hamlets above Puy-Saint-Eusèbe
A very varied family walk with beautiful views of Lake Serre-Ponçon. Waterfalls, pretty forest with beautiful clearings, canal along which you walk and two small abandoned hamlets.
Bachas path from Puy-Sanières
In the foothills of Mont Guillaume, a short hike through the forest overlooking Puy-Sanières and Puy Saint-Eusébe, with a breathtaking view over Lac de Serre-Ponçon.
Summit of Méale
A lovely loop walk, fairly well shaded, but still offering numerous views along most of the route. The view from the summit is remarkable.
Reyssas Canal and abandoned farms
Hike along the Reyssas irrigation canal. To maintain a steady gradient, the canal passes through some unlikely and beautiful places. Admire the work of our ancestors. Discover abandoned farms. Hike through the forest, including a majestic larch grove. Beautiful views of Lake Serre-Ponçon.
This hike requires a bit of agility (crossing the Coulet torrent) and balance (walking on a narrow path along the canal). From 12 years old.
Mont Dauphin via the marmot trail
A fairly short and very pleasant walk that allows you to visit Mont-Dauphin in a different way. You can see many marmots, which are not very shy, at the bottom of the trail.
Circuit around Mont-Dauphin
A relatively short and easy walk around the "Vauban" citadel of Mont-Dauphin. From the top of the circuit, there are fine views of the surrounding mountains and valleys, while the section along the river Guil offers a view not only of the Guil, but also of the Chalp canal waterfall. The walk can be followed by a stroll around the citadel.
Lac du Crachet
A very pretty little mountain lake full of freshness.
