Tour of the small lake of Embrun

Embrun is a town located in the heart of the Durance Valley. Rich in history, it is located not far from Lake Serre-Ponçon. There is a small lake next to it. Walking around it is a pleasant stroll, with views of the surrounding mountains, including Pic de Morgon and Mont Guillaume. It is a walk that can be enjoyed with young children.

Description of the walk

Park in the large car park near the Embrun swimming pool.

(S/E) Head towards the lake and turn right. At the crossroads, keep left and follow the lake until you reach the river.

(1) Continue, then keep left on the path along the water. You will rejoin the road further on.

(2) Turn left twice towards the campsite. You will reach the dam separating the lake from Lac de Serre-Ponçon.

(3) Stay on the path, following the small lake (on your left) to the end. Turn left once you reach the opposite bank to return to the car park (S/E).
