The start is from Eygliers-Gare. Driving on the N94 from Embrun, pass the Guillestre roundabout and, after passing the "Eygliers-gare" sign, take the first right. The car park is immediately there, opposite an inn.
(S/E) Follow the path that passes to the right of the building until you reach the left-hand bend.
(1) Head north-east. You can take the tarmac road or, as suggested on the map, the Sentier des Marmottes (or do both to see the many marmots).
(2) Head towards Mont Dauphin by turning right, which is signposted and marked in yellow. Reach the D137 and a car park near the entrance to Mont Dauphin.
(3) Take a detour onto the plateau to enjoy the view of Guil.
(4) Enter the Mont-Dauphin fort and take a tour of the village. Exit through the same gate.
(3) At the car park, turn left, heading north-west, onto the path that starts to the left of the car park, then go around the fortifications and descend below the cliffs.
(5) When you reach the bend in the road, turn right, heading north, and continue to the junction of the loop.
(1) Turn left onto the path that leads back to the car park (S/E).
. The descent from point 3 to below the cliffs is quite steep and slippery. At the cliffs, we mistakenly stayed on the upper path that leads to the climbing starts and doesn't go any further. We had to turn back. There is only one path shown on the maps. A waypoint at the fork would have been useful
. Apart from that, the circuit is interesting and easy.
