Marne walks
A balcony overlooking the Vesle
A varied route, mapped out by the Marne Tourist Board, takes you through a forest, sand pits, vineyards, fields and two villages. From a balcony offering views of the Vesle valley, you will pass the forts of Saint-Thierry and Chenay. These were built after the 1870 war to protect Reims.

Hautvillers, Damery and Cumières through the vineyards and along the banks of the Marne

The Abbaye du Reclus via Bannay and Belin
This is a short hike with lots to discover: the Abbaye du Reclus, the Château de Belin and the Reclus dolmen. You will hike through woods and pastures where cows graze. There are no particular difficulties, but avoid this hike in wet weather.

This route also offers sweeping views of the Vesle valley. To the south, you can see Coulommes-la-Montagne. To the south-east: Reims and even Verzenay!

From the port of Giffaumont to Étang la Dame and Étang Chevalier
From the port of Giffaumont, follow the lake shore through the forest, looping around the Étang Chevalier and the Queue du Der, then return via Braucourt Beach and the south basin dyke.
In the forest between Mailly and Verzenay
This hike begins in the Champagne hills and gradually descends into the heart of the Montagne de Reims forest via some very pleasant trails. The end of the route descends from the forest plateau to finish on the old CBR (Chemin de la Banlieue Rémoise) with a lovely view of the village of Verzenay and its hillsides.

This is an easy, semi-sporting hike (if you walk at a good pace on the first part) and a semi-cultural one, offering beautiful views of the Champagne plain and a natural curiosity of the region: trees that grow in a twisted manner, the Faux de Verzy.

The route is easy, as it follows theGR® (GRP® de l'Ardre andGR®142) in their current version (not the one on the maps), and is well marked for over half of the way.
From Moussy to Saint-Martin d'Ablois, Brugny Vaudancourt and Chavot
This short hike through vineyards and woods takes us to the Cubry Valley and along the route of the old CBR (Reims Suburban Railway). It offers a glimpse of a little-known curiosity: the Pierre Saint-Mamert, where a hermit once lived. This stone is on private land where walking is tolerated provided that visitors respect the site.
Note: the spelling on the IGN map is incorrect; it is indeed the Pierre Saint-Mamert.
Circular Crugny to Saint-Gilles via Courville

The Saint-Gond Marshes
This hike allows you to explore a natural environment that is generally difficult to access, thanks to a well-maintained path between wet meadows and some beautiful viewpoints. A "nature" hike where the former Abbey of Saint-Gond adds a touch of heritage.

Congy, Étoges, Toulon-la-Montagne via the GRP® Thibaut de Champagne
This is a route rich in discoveries: the castles of Congy and Étoges, the Champagne vineyards, and above all the magnificent menhir of the Étang de Chènevry. Vineyards, woods and crops with magnificent views of the nearby marshes of Saint Gond.
No technical difficulties except for a little mud in wet weather.

This is a short circular loop in the woods, which can be done with the family or at a brisk pace.
Strolling through Reims of yesterday and today
The city of Reims occupies a special place in the history of France and Europe. This urban route combines Romanesque masterpieces such as the Basilica of Saint-Rémi and Gothic masterpieces such as Notre-Dame Cathedral, with the Art Deco architecture characteristic of the city's reconstruction after the First World War.
Sarcy circular route via Bligny and Poilly
A stroll through the Champagne countryside to discover First World War cemeteries, old wash houses and churches.
Brisk walk or short stroll from Mancy.
This short route will take you through the vineyards and woods of Mancy to Morangis via Moslins. It is suitable for brisk walking or a short family stroll.
There are some steep hills, however, so it is best avoided during heatwaves.

Épernay - Mont Bernon - Château de Saran - Chouilly
This is a lovely 15 km walk through vineyards and fields, offering beautiful views of the vineyards. Pass by the Château de Saran and the pretty Jardin Humide de Chouilly. Return to Épernay via the famous Avenue de Champagne.
The Neuville Pond
A short walk to discover a beautiful wild pond nestled in the heart of the Montagne de Reims.
Prouilly circular route via Montigny-sur-Vesle and Pévy
This circular route will take you from the Prouilly war memorial to the church in Montigny-sur-Vesle, then to the church in Pévy, through fields and vineyards with beautiful views of the hills.
Short, fast-paced walk.
Between Épernay and Reims, this is a ten-kilometre route accessible in all weathers. It can be done as a simple walk with children (possibly with an all-terrain pushchair) or as a brisk walk.
The 35th Infantry Regiment memorial and the Belval polisher
This short hike takes you to see the Neolithic polisher at Belval and the memorial to the soldiers of the 35th Infantry Regiment who fell between 17 July and 3 August 1918 in the Bois de Courton.
It passes through many woods, vineyards and pastures. It has little elevation gain and presents no difficulties, except for muddy conditions in wet weather.
You will find it very peaceful. Avoid on hunting days.
La Ferme de la Grâce and Courbetaux
A short hike around the town of Montmirail. You will have the opportunity to discover the heritage of the surrounding area and the castle, which is an integral part of the town. This is a walk that can be enjoyed with the whole family.
Stele in the Bois de Courton from Nanteuil-la-Forêt
This short hike in the woods will be of interest to First World War enthusiasts as it passes by the memorial stone honouring the soldiers ofthe 35th Infantry Regiment who fell between 17 July and 3 August 1918 in the Bois de Courton.
Please respect the area, as the woods are probably private property. Avoid during hunting season.
From the Cadran forest house to the Chêne des Trois Frères and Courtagnon
This is a walk through the woods that can be done at a brisk pace or as a family stroll. Pass by the remarkable tree "Le Chêne des Trois Frères" and the pretty village of Courtagnon with its small vineyard.
