Between the Gourdon and the Bouzanne
According to legend, Lys-Saint-Georges owes its name to Philip Augustus and Richard the Lionheart, who are said to have reconciled in this village. Combining the Lily of France and Saint George, the patron saint of England, we get Lys-Saint-Georges. Its 14th-century castle, the remains of an ancient fortified castle with eleven towers, was restored and then altered in the 19th century. This castle belonged to Bertrand du Lys and was purchased in 1430 by Jacques Cœur. It has belonged to the Count of Reviers for over a century.

Route to discover the surroundings of Le Pêchereau
This walk allows you to discover the commune of Le Pêchereau, which borders Argenton-sur-Creuse.
Starting from the old town hall, it takes you to the new one in the beautiful Château de Courbat, then along the Creuse river, up to the heights overlooking the valley, through woods and meadows, and finally to Grand Pêchereau, the highest part of the town.
