Description of the walk

The route starts in front of the town hall, near the village hall.

(S/E) Head west along Rue des Écoles. Continue straight ahead at the roundabout.

(1) Then turn right onto the D105 to reach and carefully cross the D925 (very busy) to take the path opposite.

(2) Take the grassy path on the right which runs alongside a small stream. After crossing a ford, continue straight on towards the north-east, crossing two roads and then entering a wood.

(3) When you reach the White Cross war memorial (elevation 160m), turn right at the edge of the forest. Pass two paths on the right and go past the water treatment plant.

(4) Take the road on the right until you reach the D925.

(5) Cross carefully to admire the small restored chapel, then turn right and follow the D925 westwards for 100 m.

(6) Turn left onto the Route de Tilliaires.

(7) At the next junction, take the path across the field heading west. Then follow the small road to the right and continue straight on, crossing the D105 (elevation 163).

(8) At the Domaine des Rogeais (elevation 164), cross the small road and continue straight on along a path.

(9) Turn right and leave a path on your left.

(10) Turn right to return to the fork on the outward journey.

(1) Turn right to return to the starting point via Rue des Écoles (S/E).

Worth a visit

Diors:
- Château de Diors (15th century): it was built on the site of a fortified castle and was almost completely destroyed by bombing in August 1944; the Museum of the Three Wars was housed in the part of the outbuildings that was saved. The museum closed its doors for good in 1990; a large part of the collections is now in Verdun.
- Chapel
- White Cross War Memorial
- Former Foundry
