Park at Place du Champ de Foire. Look for an old well at the bottom of the square.
(S/E) Go down the D74 and, 50 m before the stop sign, turn slightly left onto the small Rue de la Grande Montée between garages on the left and an old half-timbered house. Turn right for 40 m, then take a pedestrian crossing on the left.
(1) Follow the blue signs (or those for the GR® 100) to the left, Rue Jules Caillaud. Leave the GR® for a moment by turning right to reach the area reserved for motorhomes and follow the Bouzanne on your right. After a left turn, leave a path on your right and come out at No. 2, La Gourdonnerie. Follow the GR® again on the right, then head towards Moulin Douet on the right.
(2) Turn left at the intersection to reach Moulin Douet. After the last house, leave a path on your left, then follow the farm track, leaving the trail on your right (signpost). Through the hedge, you will see a beautiful cross in a field on your right.
(3) Leave the GR® on your right, then turn left twice. Leave a path on your right. At the next intersection, turn right and leave a path on your left, reach Pisseloup and rejoin the D74.
(4) Follow it carefully to the right for 100 m; leave the street on the left leading to Paradis, and take a wide grassy path on the left (signpost). At the next crossroads, turn right, then follow the wide path on the left (signpost).
(5) Leave the track and descend into a copse. Then take a grassy path. Follow the road to the left. Pass the driveway to the Bois Gros estate and continue straight ahead at the next crossroads.
(6) Carefully cross the D74c to continue on a track opposite. Turn left onto a farm track (signpost) and cross a small wood. Continue to Les Loges Bernard.
(7) Leave Les Justices on your left and continue straight ahead on the small road. When you reach Neuvy-Saint-Sépulchre, pass a street on your right and cross the Grande Chaume. Leave Rue Victor Hugo on your left and join the D927.
(8) Cross the road carefully to go opposite the school. At the T-junction, turn right and then, 50 m further on, turn left to reach the lake.
(9) Leave the blue markings on your left and follow the GR® to cross the pond drain and reach a wash house (sign for Compostelle). Continue along the street opposite until you reach the stop sign.
Now follow the Neuvy-Saint-Sépulchre heritage trail (in the opposite direction), which is marked with information boards.
(10) Take the D74 on the right, then turn left onto Rue de la Fontchevrière, which leads to Rue Adolphe Rochoux. Keep left. Walk past the old shirt factories until you reach the old train station (fountain). Turn left onto Avenue de Verdun (sign no. 5 on the right).
(11) At the war memorial, turn left onto the D927 and continue to the crossroads with Rue Gardie on your right (sign no. 6 on your left, beautiful mosaics on the post office building on your right). Continue on the D927 and turn left onto Rue du Collège; take the street on the right at the old well, leave Rue des Fosses on your right and turn right at the stop sign. You will arrive at Place Émile Girat (sign no. 4 on your right), go up the tree-lined alley on the right alongside the car park. At the end, take the street on the left (sign no. 3 on the left), then left again to take the cobbled lane of Abbé Bedu and follow the Basilique Saint-Etienne (sign no. 2 on the left).
(12) Cross the D927 carefully and arrive at the crossroads on the left. Cross the D38 carefully to reach the old market halls (sign no. 1 on the right). Cross the D927 carefully and cross the bridge over the Bouzanne on the right to reach Place Clémenceau (sign no. 7 on the left) and then the town hall. Continue to Place Henri de Latouche, turn right (signpost for hiking trails on the left), leave the small Rue de l'Abreuvoir on your right, then turn right (sign for Communauté de Communes) into the lane leading to Parc Boulade Périgois.
(13) Cross the park (sign no. 8 near the fountain) and exit at the bottom on the left to go up Rue de la Tannerie to the north-west (keep Rue Transversale on your right). At the end, turn right, cross the D927 carefully one last time and continue opposite along the small Rue de la Grand Maison, which leads back to the fairground (sign no. 9 near the well) (S/E).
