Departure from the small square at the fairground, located at the crossroads of the D21, D1 and D27 roads, near the war memorial. A sign indicates the start of the walk proposed here, entitled "Étangs et buttons" (or recently "le circuit des étangs Neufs", route no. 44 of the Brenne Regional Nature Park).
(S/E) Head south on Rue Principale towards the town hall, which you will pass, then, after the church, continue on the D21 towards Mézières-en-Brenne.
(1). Continue straight on the D21, passing the junction with the D47.
(2) After 200 metres, turn left onto a path and follow the blue and white or yellow markings. Cross the meadows where you can see the characteristic small mounds of the Brenne region. Then walk alongside a wood and a pond. Continue straight ahead and enter the undergrowth. Pass a cross and arrive at an old electrical transformer, a few ruined houses in Brenne and then the typical hamlet of Houme.
(3) Head south on the path to the right of the well and walk alongside several private ponds: be careful, some areas are very wet! Join a wide path.
(4) Turn left onto theGR® du Pays des Mille Étangs: the blue and white or yellow markings are doubled by the yellow and red markings ofthe GRP®. You are now at the beautiful fishing complex of the Étangs Neufs de Neuillay-Les-Bois. Continue on theGRP®, which winds between the ponds.
(5) Turn right into a wood to reach the D47. Cross carefully to continue on theGRP® opposite.
(6) After 400 metres, leave theGRP® by taking a path on the left. Continue eastwards until you reach a fork in the road where you can see the houses of the hamlet of La Forêt.
(7) Take the path on the left, heading north, and continue for about 700m.
(8) Turn left onto a slightly wider path. Continue north for 700 metres to reach a wide path.
(9). Follow this path to the left towards the west for about 800 metres.
(10) Turn right onto a path heading north (blue or yellow markings). Continue straight ahead to the Étang de Neuillay lake and join the D1, which you take on the left. After 150 metres, turn right onto Chemin de la Fontaine, which will take you back to the car park where you started (S/E).
