Favars walks
The Étangs de Lachamp-Favars
Just 20 minutes from Malemort-sur-Corrèze, this shaded walk with very little tarmac allows you to discover the large Étang de Lachamp lake and the forests surrounding Favars. A pleasant walk in hot weather.
This hike takes 2½ hours.
Rebourg-Chanteix Waterfalls
A short walk near Chanteix where you can admire a pretty waterfall and its stream, the Maumont Blanc. An ideal spot for a picnic at the end of the walk. The hike is easy, with only 400 metres of road.
The balconies of Corrèze starting from Cornil
This route consists of two circular loops, one 6 km long and the other 9 km long, which can be done independently. They are marked in yellow from the town hall in Cornil. The first passes along the banks of the Corrèze and the arboretum, while the second offers a long stretch through the forest. The whole route is fairly shaded, which can be pleasant in summer. A short detour allows you to admire the ruins of the castle and the church overlooking the village of Cornil.
The three mills of Venarsal
A five-minute walk from Brive and Malemort along the streams that feed the Barrage de la Couze dam.
A shaded route through the woods, with the only drawback being a slightly steep hill on a tarmac road.
You will pass three old mills, which are no longer in use but reflect the life of yesteryear.
PLEASE NOTE: deforested area between points 3 and 4, impassable in wet weather.
The four mills of Venarsal
A beautiful hike around the Biou and Couze rivers, which flow into Lake Couze. Very shady, it passes four mills, some of which have been restored but are no longer in operation. The gradient is sometimes a little steep, but it's worth it.
Please note: there is a deforested area between points (5) and (6), which is impassable in wet weather.

The Canal aux Moines, the Hermitage and the Cromlech of Puy de Pauliac
A very pleasant hike close to a colossal structure built by the monks of Aubazines in the 12th century. This circuit also allows you to discover a dolmen, a dry stone "village" built by a hermit, the Puy de Pauliac with its orientation table and its cromlech.
The Canal aux Moines skilfully follows the curves of the hill for about 1.5 km and feeds a reservoir in the abbey enclosure. In the past, the waterfall was used to power the monastery's watermill.
The Canal aux Moines and the ruins of the Monastery
A very pleasant hike close to a colossal structure built by the monks of Aubazines in the 12th century. It is a truly exceptional work. This route also allows you to discover the ruins of the Aubazines Women's Monastery.
The Moines Canal skilfully follows the curves of the hill and feeds a reservoir in the abbey enclosure. In the past, the waterfall was used to power the monastery's mill.
Canal des Moines
This easy hike will take you along the Canal des Moines in a bucolic, shaded setting, starting from one of the prettiest villages in Corrèze.
Lovers of the Blanchefort Forest
This route from Lagraulière features long stretches through the Blanchefort Forest and crosses the Brézou stream several times.

A beautiful hike on quiet paths and roads. The hike is very well marked in yellow from the church in Perpezac-le-Noir.

A mostly shaded hike crossing the "Maumont Blanc" and "Maumont Noir" streams.

Sentier des Saulières in Donzenac
Route starting from Donzenac offering a view of the Travassac slate quarry and following part of the Resistance route with the Trou aux Loups and Chat Huant shelters.
Route of the Forge and Forest Mills
This hike will take you to the ruins of two old mills dating from the 18th century, built on the Brezou stream. You can see old millstones, dykes, a supply channel and the ruins of the Moulin de la Forêt building with the water inlets under the mill.
Loop of the Murel Waterfalls, Moulin de Prézat and La Vierge
The hike first takes you up the Franche Valeine stream, where you can admire the beautiful, large waterfalls dotted along its course.
After a connecting section, you descend to reach the Ruisseau des Rochettes gorges and waterfalls, then rejoin the Franche Valeine and follow it upstream to the car park where the hike began.
Most of the route passes through wilderness areas untouched by human activity.
