Refine your search for walks in Troisvaux
Eps and Herbeval mountains

A short but very hilly route (carto-explorer even gives 230m elevation gain) around the village of Eps, unjustly excluded by the marked trails. Beautiful views.Best done on a sunny day - it's magical!
Bours keep

The walk starts from the Donjon de Bours (Bours keep) and takes you up to the plateau with its remarkable views. You'll then head back down to the village, finishing with a stroll through the narrow streets of Bours.
The hills of Faux
A beautiful, undulating trail on the Ternois hillsides. Donjon de Bours (keep).
The source of the Lawe from Bajus

This hike will take you from the plains to the woods via Thieuloye and Rocourt en l'Eau, where the Lawe river has its source. Bajus was a village where French troops rested before going to the front during the First World War
The hedgerows
The old marked trail around Ambricourt is unfortunately poorly maintained or not maintained at all. We have been walking it for 25 years and have encountered difficulties every time (poor signage, paths buried under nettles or difficult to walk on).The start at Teneur allows you to pass (twice) in front of the superb limestone hillside of Teneur. Deer are often visible in or around the Bois de Crépy
The path is in very poor condition between points (2) and (6).
If possible, avoid the period between mid-June and mid-August. The passage after point (3) will be easier if the field is not too far into the growing season or has already been harvested.
La source de la Lawe

Randonnée au départ de La Comté qui nous mène près de la source de la Lawe.
Paysage très agréable et quelques vallonnements.
On the ridges around Bergueneuse

More than 22 km of trails for a nature trail with some nice climbs and descents. Sharpen your calves!Beautiful views, woods and, if you're lucky, a few wild animals. At least, the ones that the hunters don't slaughter, as we recently freed two roe deer caught in snares (fox traps, but any animal can get caught there, and it's legal!).
The two woods and the Coqueline

A very pleasant nature trail in dry weather, but becomes more challenging in wet weather: grassy sections (a good test for your shoes, deep ruts, muddy sections).
Warning: October 2024. While it's relatively easy to get through the ruts, the last part of the path out of the wood (before point 9) is in a terrible state. The path has been broken up by machinery and you can only pass along the sides, which are themselves very difficult. It's very slippery and sometimes you have to change sides, which is a real challenge. This used to be a signposted mountain bike trail, is it still?
De la Canche au Bois de Mortagne

Un départ pépère sur de bons chemins, puis un passage par le Sentier des Culs Trempés avant une belle remontée sur Canettemont.
The Canche, the moorland and the Ravin des Cavernes
In the Riez de Nœux-les-Auxi, there is a beautiful walk along the Canche in Boubers and Ligny. With the climb up the Ravin des Cavernes, you really feel like you are in another world (even more so now, with the final chaos). The route becomes very difficult in wet weather in the Riez and the ravine.
Trail along the little paths of Houdain via Mont de la Comté

Admittedly, the trail may seem a little monotonous, but what a beautiful path! It takes you gently up to the heights before dropping back down into the valley to climb Mont de la Comté.And at the end of the trail, the church awaits you.
L'ubac de Rebreuve-sur-Canche

A short, unpretentious and easy route.Very small roads and paths for a relaxing half-day out.
Around Cuvigny

A short walk on good paths in the hills above La Comté. On a clear day, the panorama is superb, and if you're luckier than me, you'll spot a few deer.
Trail towards Caucourt Ford

Caucourt is a small village near Olhain. From the church, you cross pleasant plains and villages, especially on sunny days.Avoid this route in very hot weather, as it is not much shade; in rain or fog, the view won't be as good!...
In the direction of the trail, you'll save the best until last, the Gué de Caucourt and its mill.
Gué de Caucourt trail

Short route, on decently pathed paths, pleasant in all seasons (except in very wet weather) with a passage through the Gué de Caucourt.
April 2024 :1- The Hermin council advises against using the path between points 10 and 11 until the end of 2025. At point (9) , go straight ahead to join point (11) .
2- The track between points (11) and (12) is particularly wet. It's okay, but you'll come out a little damp. It may be preferable to go straight ahead to reach the church, then turn right to rejoin the track at point (13) .
3- Very damp but short sections before and after point (4)
Le Puits sans Fond stream

A short walk that takes you up to the ridge before descending and going along the Puits sans Fond stream. More pleasant in dry weather, as some paths can be very wet.
La Buissière - Ourton loop following the Biette, then the Lawe

This is a long walk in an urban area, but 90% of it is on paths. Start at the old bridge and its steps, then follow the Biette (a beautiful footbridge restored last year) to Ourton. Next, climb back up (unfortunately on the road) before descending to Beugin. Follow another bridge to the Divion Viaduct. There, a slightly tricky descent takes you back to the banks of the Lawe. Follow it first on the left bank, then on the right bank before following the bus route. And to finish in style, the Bois de la Volville, with a nice climb at the end.
Two woods, a slag heap and a charterhouse to digest it all
Up to the entrance to the Bois des Dames, the route is much the same as this hike (there aren't many options in the Bois de Roquelaure), but I took other paths to cross the Bois des Dames. The end of the route passes behind Emmaüs before reaching the Chartreuse des Dames and joining the Bois des Sablières. It's long, winding, almost entirely unpaved and with a significant elevation gain. Very difficult in wet weather. The use ofthe Visorando app is strongly recommended.
Around Bomy

A short walk in the Artois region, particularly pleasant in autumn.
The Surgeon hills

A short, undulating route offering beautiful views.
Two castles from Hauteville
This hike between plains and woods will take you to Barly Castle. Listed as a historic monument, it was built in 1780 by the Blin family. It is open to visitors today. You will also see Fosseux Castle, which was built in 1770 by Parisian architect Villetard at the request of Ferdinand Dubois de Hoves de Fosseux.
The Authie river, the ravine and the moor

This nearly roadless route takes in the wild Ravin des Cavernes and the astonishing moorland of Nœux-lès-Auxi (le Rietz).
Le Rietz de Nœux is a protected nature reserve. In spring, it's home to the most beautiful orchids. Goes without saying, don't pick them!
This circuit takes up a large part of the "Sentier de l'Étoile" (Path of the Star), of which there are a few routes, but no description. What's more, there are very few markings. The gates are near the fence on the right.
Before tackling this route, I advise you to watch the 2 videos linked in Denis' commentary.
Discover three "Heritage Villages" starting from Auxi-le-Château
This hike through hills and valleys allows you to discover the three "Heritage Villages" surrounding Auxi-le-Château. It offers a variety of landscapes that testify to the inhabitants' attachment to their heritage and respect for diversity.
Loop to the north-west of Auxi-le-Château
This loop allows you to discover the banks of the Authie and its marshes before leaving the valley and climbing up to the plateau. It finally skirts around the Pâture Mille Trous nature reserve. There is a beautiful view of Auxi-le-Château and its 15th-century listed church.
Loop east of Auxi-le-Château via the old railway line
This walk allows you to discover the Authie valley on the east side. We pass by the old Auxi-le-Château railway station, which is a fine example of the restoration and conversion of existing heritage. Also worth noting is the small military cemetery, which reminds us of the horrors of war. Finally, enjoy the superb views of the valley and the charming town of Auxi.
