Description of the walk

Departure from Place du Bicentenaire in Anvin.

(S/E) From the car park, join the D343 and follow it to the right. Cross the railway line and, just before the café "Chez Rachelle" (excellent welcome for hikers), turn right onto theGR®. Immediately turn left onto a path, cross the Ternoise and join the D70 (gate).

(1) Follow it to the right, cross the Faux and take thesecond road on the right (Rue d'Eps). Cross the Eps river and rejoin the D70, which you follow to the right for about 500 m.

(2) Take thefirst path on the right (stillGR®) which climbs towards an antenna. At the three-way junction, turn right and descend to a small road.

(3) Leave the GR®. Follow the road to the right towards Monchy-Cayeux. Cross the Ternoise and reach a crossroads.

(4) Take Rue d'en Haut opposite and cross Monchy-Cayeux. At the T-junction, turn left, cross the railway line and reach the D343.

(5) Cross it and take the wide path opposite, which climbs gently, descends a little and climbs again to reach a small road.

(6) Follow it a few metres to the left and turn right onto a grassy path. Join a small road and follow it to the right for about 1 km.
Go through a crossroads and 200 metres further on you will find a path on the right.

(7) Follow it, zigzagging a few times (due to land consolidation!), and eventually descend steeply to reach the D 94.

(8) Follow it to the right (take care) for about 500 metres, and you will find Chemin de la Creuse on the right.

(9) Follow it, climbing under the trees. At the top, turn left and continue in the same direction, passing in front of the new cemetery and reaching a crossroads opposite a chapel. Take the D 343 opposite and you will reach a calvary.

(10) Turn left, cross the cemetery and return to the car park (S/E).

It's a shame that there are 500 metres on a fairly busy road (Anvin to EPS).

A very pleasant walk, especially in winter with a few sections on tarmac roads.
Now at "Chez Rachelle", a small restaurant with a very friendly welcome and hearty cuisine. You can also start the route from the town hall in Monchy-Cayeux, have lunch at "Rachelle" and finish the route. It's very good in winter.

A very beautiful hike. The only slight drawback, which is quickly forgotten, is the D70, which is still quite busy.
