Tourny walks

An easy, short walk through varied countryside, taking in both fields and the village itself. The presence of cattle along the route provides opportunities for a few breaks, and perhaps to strike up a conversation…

A walk rich in heritage, on the border between Normandy and the French Vexin. The route alternates between fields, woods and hills, hopping over the River Epte. This lovely circular route ends with a visit to the former Notre-Dame-du-Trésor Abbey (now private,used for receptions).

This short circular route will take you through part of the Vernon State Forest, through the streets of Vernonnet, and finally along the Vernon stone quarries.

A pleasant circular route starting from Vernonnet, north of Vernon! The route follows theGR®2variant, crosses Giverny and returns to the starting point after a circular loop in the woods above Giverny before returning along the Seine via theGR®2.

This walk takes you along the banks of the Seine, then through some woodland. You’ll then pass by some beautiful old buildings in Saint-Pierre-La-Garenne. With very little elevation gain, this walk is suitable for everyone.

At least, that's the impression you get as you walk along the side of the rock on a narrow mule track with spectacular views of the limestone rocks and the Seine. On the way back, you follow the banks of the Seine, gently returning to solid ground.

A very varied hike that combines: - Regional Forest of the Roche-Guyon, - A beautiful, quiet valley, - The town of La Roche and its castle, - and finally, a scenic route overlooking the Seine.

A lovely walk through the Seine Valley. From the top of the white cliffs, the view of Les Andelys dominated by Château Gaillard is unforgettable. The tall forest you pass through is colonised by ferns and sometimes looks like the beginning of the world as we imagine it.

A route that crosses the Roche-Guyon Regional Forest, descends into the Epte valley before returning via the village of Chérence to the Coteaux de la Seine Nature Reserve, with its views over the valley. Please note! This route cannot be done between1 March and 30 June, as access to the nature reserve is prohibited during this period.

TheGR®2winds along the cliffs overlooking the Seine, descends into Les Andelys and climbs back up towards Château-Gaillard.

This varied walk first takes you to Chaussy, a charming little village in the French Vexin region, then to the green hills that surround it. Later on, you will discover the Château de Villarceaux and its gardens. Allergy sufferers will complain about having to walk along the road for a while, which unfortunately cannot be avoided. On the other hand, you will discover some magnificent places and perhaps, like us, you will be lucky enough to see a deer leaping through the wheat fields.

A circular route around La Roche-Guyon that takes you to the foot of the keep and offers some lovely views.

Starting from the foot of the castle, climb along the cliff, walk through the forest and enjoy a beautiful view of the circular bends in the Seine. On the way back, explore the village.

A varied route offering the chance to explore La Roche-Guyon and its surroundings via little-known paths.

During this walk, you will discover the local heritage of the village: four wash houses, the Moulin Viard and the Notre-Dame-de-Grâce Chapel. This undulating route offers a variety of pleasant views over the valley.

A short walk that takes you along the Seine before climbing up above the cliffs to enjoy the views over the circular Moisson bend

This circular route along the banks of the Seine will take you past the region’s many cave dwellings, through some lovely woodland and along a short stretch beside the Seine. The route could probably be improved, particularly on the return leg, which, for my liking, follows the D913 a bit too closely; unfortunately, I wasn’t able to stay along the banks of the Seine.

Loop starting from Chérence. The Seine, troglodyte dwellings and gliders. Pass through the Coteaux de la Seine reserve, which is closed for nesting from 1 March to 30 June.

A route to explore the former Saint-François quarries, whose stone was transported down the Seine to build Parisian monuments, and the hamlet of Bézu, which has been abandoned since the quarries closed. The route first crosses the Forêt de la Roche-Guyon before climbing the slopes of the Epte valley. The end of this walk offers the chance to stroll through the streets of the typical village of Chérence.

This is a ten-kilometre route starting from La Bergerie de Villarceaux in the commune of Chayssy (Val d'Oise) and passing through Genainville. For fans of naturist hiking (known as randonue to those in the know), certain sections of this route can be covered completely naked (from (2) to (8) and from (9) to (S/E). Although encounters are possible, the risk is minimal. Don't forget to bring something to cover yourself with (shorts, sarong, etc.) so as not to shock anyone you might meet. Always be courteous and explain your naturist approach. This hike can of course be done fully clothed. The start and finish are at the Bergerie de Villarceaux. There is a small car park just at the start of the hike. There is no public transport to the Bergerie de Villarceaux.

Nestled in a bend of the Seine, the Moisson nature reserve offers a guaranteed change of scenery! Alternating between forest and moorland trails, this short hike should appeal to nature lovers and those seeking peace and quiet.

A short walk that starts on a shaded path and ends along the Seine with beautiful views of the chalk cliffs on the opposite bank.

This route is quite pleasant, even though it is mainly on roads. In fact, more than 9 km of the 13.5 km route is on tarmac. Along the way, you will pass three churches, some beautiful views overlooking the Saint-Ouen stream valley, and several wash houses that remind us that in times not so long ago, laundry was still done by hand!

This undulating walk will take you mainly through woodland, allowing you to enjoy beautiful views and discover some heritage sites in the small village of Blaru.

This hike will allow you to discover numerous panoramic views of the Seine hillsides and theGR®2trail between Sainte-Geneviève-lès-Gasny and Giverny. Countryside and forest will also be on the menu. You will also come across several churches and wash houses.

A hike in the Vexin Regional Nature Park starting from Bonnières-sur-Seine, passing through Port Saint-Nicolas, La Roche-Guyon, the Faïence Garden and the Coteaux de la Seine Nature Reserve.

Follow in the footsteps of Claude Monet, considered one of the founders of Impressionism, on a hike from station to station along the Seine and its hillsides. Beautiful views punctuate the route. Halfway along the route, there are several possible visits in Giverny, where the painter lived and worked from 1883 until his death in 1926. At the end of the hike, the collegiate church of Vernon is worth a detour.

A short, easy walk around the Tour de Neaufles, known as the Reine Blanche. A quiet road, covered paths and country lanes.

Right from the start, this walk offers beautiful views of the woods of Bonnières-sur-Seine. As you pass through Rolleboise, you’ll be treated to a succession of superb panoramic views of the Seine and the Ilon basin. Near Méricourt, you’ll see the lock and other views of the river, then at Freneuse, you’ll discover views of the Seine cliffs on the opposite bank.

Walk along the banks of the Seine between Vétheuil and La Roche-Guyon. Walk along theGR®2trail, marked in red and white. Remember to bring a cap or hat in summer as much of the route is exposed.

Throughout this varied and undulating walk, you’ll enjoy not only the heritage of the three charming villages you pass through, but also the views, the path through the woods, the curious discovery along the GR®2 and, as the highlight, the superb panorama of the circular bends in the Seine.

During this walk, you will make your way from Vienne-en-Arthies, at the confluence of several streams, to Vétheuil, a picturesque village made famous by the paintings of Monet, who lived there from 1879 to 1881. You will enjoy various views and a few heritage sights.
