Description of the walk

The route starts from the town hall car park, 18 Route de la Mairie.

(S/E) As you leave the car park, facing the town hall, cross the road and head along Route de la Vallée du Roi. Take the first right onto Rue des Moulins. Cross a stream and you’ll reach an old mill.

(1) At the bend, head up to the left along the Sente du Paradis (signposted). Ignore a path branching off to the left. Continue until you reach a road, then head right for about 100m.

(2) Turn right onto Chemin de Mantes and immediately take a small path on the left. When you reach a chapel, go down to the left, then turn right. At the T-junction, Route de la Vallée du Roi, continue left until the next crossroads.

(3) Go up the hill opposite. Pass under a high-voltage power line and continue to a crossroads.

(4) Turn left, following the PR®, until you come out onto the D147 road. Cross it and immediately turn left onto the Sentier de la Source. Continue left for about fifty metres.

(5) Head uphill to the left along the Sente du Ruisseau. When you reach the road, first turn left then right onto a path that climbs up to a T-junction.

(6) Turn right onto a road. Keep well to the right, then rejoin the D147. Cross it again, taking care, and continue right towards Chaudry until the next junction.

(7) Head up to the left along the Chemin des Bergères. Ignore the side paths until you come to a PR® sign.

(8) Then turn left and head straight on until you reach a street in Vétheuil. Leave the Chemin de Chaudry on your left and walk downhill for 100m.

(9) Turn right onto a very narrow path (yellow marker) at the corner of a garage. Cross the Route des Crêtes and take Rue du Moutier. Walk past the church on the left, ignoring the large staircase on the left, then head down Rue Abel Lauvray to the left.

(10) Cross Avenue Claude Monet and continue to the right. Shortly afterwards, turn left onto Rue du Port. At the end of this street, leave the tarmac and turn left towards the ferry crossing to Lavacourt, then walk as close as possible to the Seine. A little further on, veer slightly left to cross a small bridge on your right. Leave Rue Soignée on your left and reach a red and white-marked lane.

(11) Follow this GR® route, turning right shortly after, then heading uphill to the left, until you reach Rue du Bourg. Cross it to enter Ruelle des Moulins, continuing to the first junction.

(12) Turn right onto Chemin des Croiselles. Pass a street on your right. At the T-junction, turn left into Rue de Montrond. Continue to Chemin des Clos.

(13) Turn right and follow it until you reach Avenue des Millonnets. Go right for a few metres and cross at the pedestrian crossing. Make a quick left-right turn and take a path leading to the sports grounds.

(14) Turn left to walk alongside the tennis courts, then head right, following the Ru de la Vallée du Roi. Continue until you reach a road. Crosscarefully and follow the path. At the end, take a street on the left for a few metres.

(15) At the junction, Place Roger Coquoin, turn left into Rue Sergent J Lewis. Continue along Route de la Mairie to quickly reach the start point on your left. (S/E)
