You must start from the municipal car park at La Roche-Guyon. Take the D913, just after passing the château when coming from Vétheuil; turn left at the roundabout.
(S/E) Leave the car park, head right, and when the road bends left, take the steps opposite. At the top of the steps, head right to the viewpoint over the Seine, go down the steps on the left and follow the Seine to a restaurant, continue straight on then turn left onto a path. Pass the pumping station on your right then head straight ahead to reach No. 1 Rue des Fraiches Femmes.
(1) Cross the street carefully and take the path opposite between the two walls. Climb up alongside the gardens. At the top of the path, turn right (Rue de la Charrière des Bois) and you will soon reach the junction withthe GR®2, opposite a semi-underground building (water tank).
(2) Take the path on the right and follow the red-and-white markings to reach a viewpoint overlooking the road (D100, Route des Crêtes).
(3) Cross it carefully to descend into the Roche-Guyon Regional Forest. Continue along this almost straight path to reach a four-way junction at the edge of the forest, by a meadow.
(4) Continue straight ahead, skirting this meadow (Petit Champ), and reach the Carrefour de la Côte aux Chiens.
(5) Take the path on the left and head towards a crossroads.
(6) Cross with great care and then enter Amenucourt. Cross the bridge over the Ru de Roconval, turn right onto Impasse du Ru, then turn left onto Impasse de la Ruche and pass the hamlet of Mauvérand. Then turn left onto Chemin des Îles and continue until you pass through the hamlet of Petit Roconval. You will reach a junction with a wider path opposite the Pont aux Vaches wash house. Turn left and join a cross-road (D37).
(7) Cross the road with care, follow it to the right for a few metres and turn left onto the path leading uphill. Continue along this path to reach a plateau. Head back down to a small road, follow it to the right and take thefirst path on the left.
(8) Take this path and climb up to reach a crossroads, shaped like an inverted Y, at a hairpin bend, at a place called Les Chaudronnières. Turn left, follow a fence and finish the climb to the road (D100, Route des Crêtes).
(9) Take this road to the left for a few metres, taking great care, and leave it quickly to turn right downhill onto the yellow-marked path. Follow a boundary wall, keeping parallel to the road, pass under a small bridge and, at the corner of the wall, turn left. Descend a steep slope to reach thefirst houses of La Roche-Guyon, at the bottom of Ruelle des Jurés.
(10) Turn left onto Rue de la Sangle, ignore a dead-end turning off to the left, then take the next alleyway on the left. At the bottom of Rue de la Glacière, turn left to reach a roundabout, then turn right and head for the car park (S/E).
