Park your vehicle on the forest track that starts to the left of the D71 coming from Roybon, about 5km after the village.
(S/E) Continue along the forest track where you parked your vehicle. You will soon come to a fork. Take the left-hand branch (you will return via the right-hand branch at the end of the walk).
Immediately afterwards, walk along the Etang Fouaty lake on your right (this will be the only accessible lake during the entire walk).
Follow the track you have taken, following the discreet yellow markings.
(1) Take the track on the right that you have come to. Continue straight ahead until you reach the Plan Michard sign
(2). Turn right with fields on your left and woods on your right. You will come to the junction of the buried water tower, where you will find a sign indicating it.
(3) Turn left, cross the D156 and follow a small tarmac road to a place called Château Rocher.
(4) Turn right and continue to a fork shortly after entering the forest.
(5) Take the left fork and continue along the track, passing a meadow and a house on your left, until you come to two ponds. You will see two wooden posts in the middle of the path and a sign for La Bâtie. Go past them.
(6) Turn right and walk along a stream on your left. Take the first path on your left and follow it, ignoring the faint trails that branch off here and there (it's obvious... and marked in yellow).
After a while (a little over 2 km since you turned left), you will come to a track that is almost at a 45° angle.
(7) Turn right, cross the D156 and continue straight ahead to reach a wide forest track. (signposted La Faitas).
(8) Turn right again. From this point until the marker (13), the path is marked in red and yellow (GRP® Tullins-Vinay). When the track splits in two, first go left and then very quickly turn left again and descend at a 90° angle on a fairly steep path (don't worry, every centimetre you descend will be climbed back up...) to reach a forest track.
(9) Turn right and you will soon reach the charming Saint-Alban Chapel.
(10) There is a water pump in front of the chapel. Below the chapel is a small pond. Continue along the track, which now climbs again, but more gently than the descent.
(11) Shortly before the hamlet of La Faitas, you must turn right. Be careful, as it is no longer marked due to tree felling. The path climbs a little steeply and quickly turns right at a right angle. Shortly afterwards, you will find the red and yellow markings again. Leave a path on your right and, at the top of the hill, join a wide track.
(12) Turn left and follow this wide track straight ahead until you reach the La Vernerette sign.
(13) Continue straight ahead. You will leave theGRP® trail, which turns left, and rejoin the yellow markings. Very soon, take a path on the right that leads into a wood and arrives at the Verrerie Vieille sign.
(14) Turn left to rejoin the track you just left and continue to a crossroads at the edge of the woods. There is a hunting lodge with a table and rough wooden benches (Private property sign!).
(15) Turn right and continue straight ahead until you reach the Plateau Millet sign.
(16) Turn right into the forest onto a straight path that eventually leads to a track at Etang Fouaty.
(17) Turn left and you will find your vehicle a little further on (S/E).
