Park in the car park at Carrefour de Patente, in the commune of Malleval-en-Vercors. Access by road from Malleval-en-Vercors, Presles (Le Faz) or Col de Romeyère.
(S/E) From the car park, climb up to the Belvédère de Patente following the signs. Enjoy the beautiful view of the valley and the orientation table. From the viewpoint, take the unmarked path that branches off to the right and runs along the cliff (a few metres away). Although unmarked and unsignposted, it is very clear and easy to follow through the undergrowth. You will reach Pas de l'Âne, a small open meadow.
(1) From there, go up the meadow and continue straight ahead until the path joins a forest road. It is marked in yellow and green. Follow it to the end of the circular route where you will find a crossroads.
(2) Leave the path leading to Baraque Bonnard on your left and turn right towards Serre Picard - Le Mont Noir - Les Croisettes. Follow the green and yellow markings of the discovery trail until it leads to a tarmac road.
(3) Turn right along this quiet road for about 200 metres until you reach a new three-way junction.
(4) Turn left towards Les Croisettes, still following the tarmac road. This is the only part of the walk that is not really shaded. Head to the car park at the Les Croisettes crossroads.
(5) Leave the tarmac road and take the path on the right (almost turning back). Follow the discovery trail, marked with green and yellow signs and arrows pointing towards Patente. Return to the Patente car park (S/E) via a wide forest road.
