(S/E) Leave the car park and head up towards the D41 road that connects Saint-Jean to La Côte. Take the road down to the right (east). Cross the road and take the first street on the left (signposted Chemin du Nemoz), which climbs up towards the hillside. The tarmac gives way to a gravel path. Follow this wide path, ignoring any paths branching off to the right or left (even the one on the left, which is closed to all vehicles and where mushroom picking is prohibited by municipal decree...). When the slope levels out, you will come to another path of the same size. Turn left.
(1) You will soon arrive at Étang Commelas, which is on your right. It is open to the public. Continue along the path. You are now on a plateau, and the path is relatively straight. Ignore any paths branching off to the right or left. The path then descends to the D518 road.
(2) Cross the road. Be careful, as traffic travels fast and you are on a bend. Take the small tarmac road on your right (sign: Route de Semons). Further on, ignore a road that comes in at a 45° angle on your left. At the next crossroads (sign: La Croix), turn left. Go down to a T-junction. Turn left.
(3) On your left, you will see Étang Cadenas, which is relatively hidden by vegetation and very enclosed. Drive past the pond.
(4) You will come out onto the D41, which you take on the left. Take the first path that goes uphill, also on the left (ignore the yellow cross that tries to dissuade you). When the path stops climbing, you will see several private ponds on your right. You will come out onto a small road (the tarmac ends when you reach it...). Take it on the right. You will come to an accessible pond.
(5) At the end of the pond, turn left at the sign: "Étang Gonnet - 530m". Follow the direction of Semons, opposite you, slightly to the left. The path climbs up to a meadow. Go around this meadow.
(6) At the end of the meadow, you will come to a T-junction, where you turn right. When you return to civilisation, at the first fork, take the small road that goes down to the left (despite the yellow cross). At the next T-junction, turn left again. At the "Stop" sign, you will, of course, turn left again to return to your starting point at the Semons car park (S/E).
