(S/E) Leave the car park and take the main road (Rue des Sources) south-west towards the church. Take a street on the left (signposted "Eglise - Prieuré").
(1) Climb a long narrow staircase on the left and you will reach the esplanade of the church and priory. Take the time to admire the site, then leave by taking the narrow street that descends to the left, towards the south. Very quickly, follow the Chemin des Polmards on the left, along a magnificent retaining wall of the priory. Pass in front of a private pleasure garden (the owner invites you to visit his work via numerous signs). Continue straight ahead in the heart of the plain.
(2) Cross a small road (the D1) and continue straight ahead, slightly to the right (you will see the Château du Double in front of you). When you reach the D857, take a left/right chicane to climb up towards the castle, which you will no longer be able to see, before arriving near it.
(3) Once you have passed the castle, turn right towards the west and pass another castle, Château Levaux, without seeing it clearly.
(4) Once you have passed Château Levaux, turn left and go up a valley. When you reach a stream, continue to the right, turning sharply, and descend to a group of houses (La Massonne).
(5) Take the path heading north between the buildings, which will take you back to the D857. Continue on the left, then very quickly turn right (north-northwest) onto a path between rows of fruit trees. When you reach a T-junction, continue on the left (the right leads to a farm).
(6) Cross a small road (the D1 again) and continue straight ahead. Follow a long straight path. On your left, you will pass an old renovated shelter. Try to solve the riddle inside.
(7) When you reach a T-junction, turn right. Cross the Torrent de Combet and continue north-east. Return to Manthes, ignoring a road on the right and then one on the left. Cross the Torrent de Frémuzet and you will arrive at the foot of the church.
(1) Continue along the street, then turn right onto Rue des Sources. When you see a low stele in honour of the SDIS (fire brigade) on your left, next to a small car park, turn left towards it and pass it to enter the magnificent park and its ponds. You can walk around it and exit via the pretty wash house, which will take you back to your starting point (S/E).
