Park in the car park north of the Pisieu cemetery.
(S/E) Walk back down towards the village, cross the main street in front of the church and take the Chemin des Écoliers (is this reasonable at your age?).
Shortly afterwards, when you reach a T-junction, turn right and then immediately left onto a stony path that descends towards the Valloire plain.
When you reach another T-junction, turn right as indicated by the signposts, then left. You will find yourself on a stony path that leads to the Étang Barbarin.
(1) You will pass this beautiful pond.
(2) When you reach a T-junction, although the signpost points to the right, turn left to avoid walking on the road (it's a little longer).
Walk across the plain and enjoy the view. A little further on, you will see a barn, a beautiful solitary tree and a path that you will only notice at the last moment: take this path and turn right.
When you pass a gravel path that branches off to the left, continue straight ahead and take the first grassy path on the right. On your right, you can see Barbarin Castle (you will pass behind it at the end of the walk). You will arrive at the D135a, which you simply cross to head towards Le Châtelard (signposted). You will find the yellow markings again, which you should now follow to Revel Tourdan.
At the next fork, turn left (sign).
(3) At the next crossroads, go straight ahead (signposted "Le Chatelard"). You will enter a small wood. At the fork, turn left (signposted) to leave the wood immediately, which you will walk alongside.
You will arrive at a place called "Le Saut du Chevalier".
(4). This is an ancient 11th-century motte-and-bailey castle (connoisseurs will no doubt appreciate it... Personally, I didn't see anything special...).
You will come out onto a small road, which you take to the right. Then, at a fork, turn left. You will enter the hamlet of Tourdan. Head towards the charming church.
(5) Leave the church grounds and turn right onto a small, short alleyway (signposted "impasse de l’Église Notre-Dame").
You will come to a white garage door. Turn right. A little further on, continue along Chemin des Prairies (signposted).
(6) You cross a small road to tackle the only "difficulty" of the walk: the climb to Revel-Tourdan. It is quite steep for a few metres. It then levels out.
You cross the D135 and continue along a path that becomes grassy. You arrive at the Revel-Tourdan cemetery.
(7) Turn right to enter the village.
You arrive from the south-west and will leave from the north-east. In the meantime, you can stroll through the narrow streets and admire the old houses, many of which have been beautifully restored. The village is very small.
(8) To the east of the village, at the end of Rue du Bourg-Vieux, near the wash house, take the Montée du Croton. You will come to a large sign describing theGR®65route, which runs from Geneva to Santiago de Compostela via Le Puy-en-Velay.
(9) You can make a short detour to the left to see the ruins, look out over the rooftops of Revel and admire two magnificent residences.
Continue along the small road. You are now on theGR®65towards Geneva, so the markings are red and white.
You are on a ridge with the Dolon valley on your left (you can see the village of Primarette opposite you). On your right is the Beaurepaire plain. At one point, opposite you on the left (north-east), if the weather is clear, you can see the top of Mont Blanc (no, it's not a cloud).
Go straight ahead at the crossroads. Further on, you will cross the path leading from Château Barbarin, the rear façade of which you can see.
Then, ignore a path that descends to your right. Continue straight ahead.
(10) Take the next road on the right (if you miss it, you'll end up in Geneva...).
You will see the church of Pisieu below and, very soon, your vehicle (S/E).
