(S/E) Leave Place du Souvenir heading south, between the church and the town hall. Continue along this small road, ignoring any turnings to the right or left. Go straight ahead at the stop sign in the hamlet of Poiponnier.
(1) At the exit of the hamlet, after the last house on the right, take the dirt track that also branches off to the right.
(2) It ends at another dirt track, which you take again on the right. You cross a small asphalt road, going almost straight ahead, then pass a kind of dry ford (normally).
(3) You will arrive at the D157 (signposted "Le Poipon 330m"). Cross the road and head towards the Penol quarries (there is a reprocessing centre on your left). When you reach the quarry gate, take the path on the right to go around it.
When you reach a transformer, turn left. Your path crosses a departmental road (D156), then runs alongside military grounds before entering the Bois des Burettes.
(4) When you reach a four-way crossroads, take the beautiful straight path on the right. After a while, when the forest on your left gives way to a slope covered with brambles, you need to be careful. As soon as the brambles end, climb up the path on the left that goes up the embankment to reach the ponds (one on the left and one on the right). At the end of the ponds, turn right. Your path rejoins the one you just left. Continue on the left
(5). At the first T-junction, turn right. Cross a small road and take a path almost opposite (slightly to the left). A little further on, cross another small road. Then, further on, as your small road climbs slightly, you will come to a fork where a yellow sign invites you to turn right.
(6) There is a picnic table and benches, which are in a somewhat dilapidated state... Turn right. You will come out at a 45° angle onto a path; the junction is tarmacked. Continue on the left.
(7) A little further on, turn right (yellow sign on a post). Your path makes a zigzag (don't fight it, just follow it...). When you reach a T-junction, turn left onto the Chemin du Videau, which will take you into Sardieu.
(8) You will come out onto the D157a and turn right. You will pass a pond on your right. When you reach a complex crossroads, do not take the street that goes down opposite, but the one on its left, also to the left of the balustrades. This will take you back to the central square, which you cross to find the church and the Place du Souvenir (remember it?) (S/E).
