(S/E) Leave the memorial square and its war memorial. Turn your back on the church gable and head right (south), passing along the school playground. Turn right to pass in front of the town hall and continue along Route du Muraillon.
(1). Shortly afterwards, on your left, you will find a grassy path wedged between a hedge and a field, the "Travers du Grand Lot". Take this path. It leads to a crossroads. Leave the small road on your right and take the main road almost opposite for 300 metres (take care).
(2) After passing some buildings, take the first grassy path on your right. Follow it for a while. You will come to a small road; continue straight ahead. The path becomes paved before joining a small road. Continue straight ahead.
(3) You will pass a "farm campsite" at Maison Gallifet. You will cross another small road and continue straight ahead (Chemin du Marssonney).
(4) You will arrive at the sign for "Vie de l'Herbe - 490m". Turn right onto a grassy path towards Etang Bideau. Ignore the path that branches off to the left (follow the yellow markings). You will come to a road; take the dirt track opposite. You will come to another road; turn right.
(5) You will arrive at the sign for "Le Bailly - 440m". Turn right (watch out for cars), then turn left twice. You will arrive at the wash house on the Gervonde stream (in season, there are magnificent bright yellow water irises). Continue along the main road, which climbs steeply(always be careful of traffic). The yellow markings are discreet but visible. At the top of the hill, take the small road on the right, Impasse du Brézet (but we'll find a way out...). In the hamlet, ignore the road that branches off to the right between the houses. Your ridge path eventually descends on its own. You will come out at the Étang Bideau. Turn left.
(6) At the sign, turn right towards Étang de Champ-Bussin.
(7) When you reach the Étangs de Champ-Bussin, turn right between the two ponds, then very quickly, your path turns to the right (taking you halfway around the other side of the valley).
(8) When you reach the new pond, turn right. At the end of the jetty, turn left to continue along the pond. At the end of the pond, the path turns right and climbs uphill. You will come to a small road; turn right. The small road continues to climb uphill.
(9) You will arrive at a group of three fairly large conifers. At their feet is a metal cross (from a distance, only the stele is visible). Take the grassy path on the right. It will lead you to the cemetery.
(10) Take it anyway, because a cemetery means a water source (plus, it's located on the outer wall). After the cemetery, turn left. At the crossroads, continue straight ahead (sign for "Sainte-Anne-sur-Gervonde"). You will quickly return to your starting point (S/E).
