Sommerviller walks

Hike around the village of Bezange-la-Grande along woodland paths, field tracks and small roads. Between points (5) and (9), the paths are very quiet, so it is advisable to have a GPS.

A gentle loop walk on the northern outskirts of Moncel-sur-Seille to visit the Bois de Rosebois, the Imperial Station and the Saint-Roch Chapel in Chambrey, the Bois Saint-Roch, the Moulin de Sainte-Marie and the Bois de Sainte-Marie.

A loop between Arracourt and Bezange-la-Grande, starting in the plain, mainly on small roads, and returning through the Bezange State Forest. At the start of the hike, you will pass the tank commemorating one of the largest tank battles of the Second World War.

This is an easy hike, passing by the Saint-Joseph cliffs and the Cité d'Affrique, mainly in the woods, offering beautiful views of the Saint-Joseph cliffs and the Moselle valley, and allowing you to explore the ruins of the Cité (also known as Camp) d'Affique, a Gallic archaeological site dating from the early Iron Age, around 500 BC. The Visorando app is recommended.

A loop between Grémecey and Vic-sur-Seille, starting on the GR®5, mainly in the woods, returning on minor roads. You'll need a GPS, as the signposting is poor in places and there are many false trails. By false trails, we mean beautiful, wide paths where you can walk happily, forgetting to turn off onto small paths where the start is hard to see. The start through the woods is pleasant and shady, after the visit to Vic-sur-Seille, which is well worth the effort. You have to get back by the shortest route, and the small roads make this possible. An attempt to return via the old railway line proved impossible. Before entering the Forêt Domaniale de Grémecey, there are some very fine views.

Bouxières-aux-Dames, from the top of its hill, overlooks the A31 motorway.Rich in surprising and bucolic listed sites, come and discover the small heritage of this commune, which recalls the life and beliefs of our ancestors.Just 15 km north of Nancy, this area is well worth exploring.The banks of the Étang de Mérrey and the lawn offer peace and greenery, perfect for a short break. This trail was marked out by young people from Millery and Autreville-sur-Moselle in July 2013 to enable anyone who wishes to discover it, with signposts and nesting boxes built by the young people to protect certain species of birds. Hike starting from Autreville-sur-Moselle offering beautiful views of the Moselle valley, the Natagne valley and the surrounding countryside.

An easy walk from the banks of the majestic Moselle at this point, with views of the Toulois hills and, further away, the Meuse hills and finally the meadows and forests around the loops of the Terrouin.

Walk on the limestone plateau of the Côte de Delme, between the north (Juville) and south (Puzieux) orientation tables, passing by the Juville quarry. You will discover many views of the Seille valley.

This circuit will introduce you to an industrial and urban area of Lorraine that has been recognised as a historic monument and protected heritage site since 2014. You will also follow the Marne-Rhine Canal and six of its former locks, now replaced by a single lock known as "la grande écluse" (the big lock). A bucolic walk that combines wooded and aquatic environments.

The inspiring hill is rich in history and geology and is a geographical landmark in this area known as the Saintois.
