Description of the walk

Start from the harbour car park.

(S/E) Follow the path eastwards between the Sânon (on the left) and the harbour.

(1) At the T-junction, turn right onto Rue du Colonel Brau, cross the Sânon and then take the first left, Rue du Saulcy Pitou. Follow this road to the end and continue straight ahead along the path that runs alongside a house. Follow this path and, after a bend to the right, at a junction, take Chemin de Mochemont to the left. At the end of the walls on the right, turn right onto the path to join Route de Sommerviller.

Cross this road and follow it to the left. Pass the fire station and then turn right onto Chemin des Rabus.

(2) Take the first path on the left.
Go round the mountain bike/BMX track on the left and continue straight ahead along the path until you reach the footbridge over the pond.

(3) Cross the footbridge and continue along the path which turns right towards Rue des Savelons, which you follow to the left until you reach Rue de Lorraine.

(4) Turn right onto it, then take the first left onto Rue de Haraucourt. Continue straight on, cross the bridge over the Sânon, then the bridge over the canal. After this second bridge, follow Chemin du Petit Ban to the left. Take the first path on the right which climbs towards Revers du Sot.

(5) Then take the second path on the left leading to Rue Notre-Dame de Grâce. Follow this street to the left, downhill, and pass in front of the chapel of the same name. At the bottom of the street, turn right onto Avenue du Maréchal de Lattre de Tassigny for about 300 metres.

(6) Turn left onto the footbridge over the lock, cross over and turn right onto the path running alongside the canal. Follow this path to Rue du Colonel Brau

(1) Opposite, take the path slightly to the left between the canal and the Sânon and return to the starting car park (S/E).

A pleasant little walk, though somewhat urban as you have to walk along the road – on tarmac – on several occasions. So you’re not always out in the countryside on footpaths. Please note that the section between points 4 and 5 is not accessible, contrary to what’s stated in the route details. You need to take the footbridge and you’ll rejoin the path just before point 5.
The route map was very useful to me as I might otherwise have gone wrong in certain places.
Thank you in any case for sharing this hiking route!

A lovely little walk with plenty of fields of mirabelle plums, apple trees and plum trees lining the paths.
The pond is lovely
There’s just some construction work at the start and finish bridges, but you can go round it.

A very pleasant ride once you’re out of the built-up areas.
After waypoint 2, there is now a mountain bike/BMX track, which can easily be bypassed on the left.

Hello. I’ve just come back from this walk with my daughter. We love nature and everything it has to offer, and we really enjoyed it.
We discovered there is a mountain bike route (located between the Chemin des Rabus and the footbridge over the pond).
However, I (and my daughter) found an error in the route.
It says (4) “turn right, then take the first left onto Rue de Haraucourt”. In fact, it’s Rue du Sanon.
But if you follow the route, turn left, then take the first right. There, we are on Rue d’Haraucourt.
But as they say, “All roads lead to Rome!”
However, we made a mistake at (5). Instead of taking the second left, we took the first left . But we didn’t regret it too much, because what a view!!
Unfortunately, I’m having trouble uploading some photos to my computer. I’ll share them as soon as possible.
