Description of the walk

The walk starts at Réméréville Church, 2 Rue de l’Église. Parking is available to the side of the church in front of the fountain.

(S/E) Facing the church, walk along its right-hand side and continue left onto Rue du Général Mathis.

(1) Take the first path on the right, Chemin du Fauconnier. At the Y-junction, keep right and continue straight on along the track. You will arrive at the edge of the Bezange-la-Grande State Forest.

(2) At the T-junction, take the grass track on the left.

(3) Turn right onto the first path, enter the forest, join a stony track and cross the Bezange-la-Grande forest via the Tranchée de Réméréville.

(4) At the end of the track, continue to the right and join a small road.

(5) Follow it to the right until you reach the first forest track on the left.

(6) Turn onto it and head straight through the Raon woods.

(7) At the end of the track, at marker No. 14, turn onto the path on the right and follow it for 100 m.

(8) At marker No. 13, turn right onto the wide grass track, passing in front of the ‘L’Écurie’ hunting lodge.

(9) Join a small road and follow it, turning left.

(10) Walk past the Hoéville orientation table and take the stony track on the right immediately after the table. Of course, take the short detour to climb up and see the view. Join the D84 and turn left.

(11) Take the first stony track on the right, crossing the road with care, and continue into the Bois de la Fourasse.

(12) First turn right then left and continue along the narrow woodland path. After the second bend, there is a small stone marker on the left.

(13) At the signpost, turn left to see the grave of Captain Henri Brugère and return to the small path. Continue left and join a stony track.

(14) Follow it to the left, pass the water tower and join the D70, which you should follow to the left.

(15) Visit the Courbesseaux National Cemetery. On leaving, cross the D70 carefully and follow it to the right towards Réméréville.
