In Dombasle-sur-Meurthe, park in the car park opposite the church.
(S/E) Join the main road at the church. At the crossroads, turn left onto Route de Sommerviller towards the Poncet lake. Walk past the cemetery and the fire station, then
(1) Turn right and head towards the lake (Poncet car park opposite the basketball court).
Follow the red ring markings to cross the woods and walk along the lake.
Along this short 1 km trail, you will find various information about the local ecosystem.
(2) Once you have crossed the pond pontoon and reached the car park in Sommerviller, continue to follow the red ring markings and head towards the main road (D2). Take the road on the left, then turn immediately onto the first street on the right to reach the canal bridge.
(3) Cross the Sanon river and then the canal and immediately turn right towards Notre-Dame-de-Lourdes. Turn left onto an uphill path called Route de Haraucourt (still following the red rings). Climb up to the next crossroads and
(4) Turn left uphill towards the forest until you reach the junction of various hiking trails (marked with red, yellow and green rings). At the entrance to the woods, turn left, following the green rings along the edge of the woods.
(5) The path turns left to run alongside an orchard, then right through the orchard. At the end of the orchard, turn left to reach the canal, descending into the housing estate. Pass in front of the Notre-Dame-de-Grâce Chapel and
(6) Turn right at the bottom of the hill. Follow the green rings along the canal to the lock. Cross the lock and take the old towpath on the right until you reach the various hiking signposts marked "retour parking" (return to car park). Return to the car park (S/E) near the church.
