Since losing its castle, the Rohan fiefdom no longer has its former splendour, but the old houses on its main street are a reminder of its former greatness. From the Scorff, which winds its way at the foot of the town, the route climbs towards the hill of Krénénan after a long detour through the villages of Ploerdut, before reaching the chapel and its magnificent panorama. The return journey follows the Scorff valley and the woods that border it.

Following tourist routes, this loop offers superb panoramic views of the countryside of the Pays du Roi Morvan. It invites you on a journey through a rich historical heritage, including a visit to the Bains de la Reine, the remains of the Château des Rohan and the Maison Limbour in Guémené-sur-Scorff. In Kernascléden, step inside the famous Notre-Dame church with its flamboyant Gothic architecture to discover one of the two danse macabre scenes in Brittany. Cross the street to visit the Maison de la Chauve-Souris (Bat House), where you can immerse yourself in the world of this mysterious mammal.Designed to combine leisure and discovery, this loop proposed by Roi Morvan Communauté is suitable for electric bikes (e-bikes) or hybrid bikes (mountain bikes).This loop has some significant elevation changes over long distances, making it more suitable for experienced cyclists.

A pleasant route through a hilly woodland setting, designed to provide the shortest route between the Grand Moulin de Guémené-sur-Scorff (S/E) and the Chapel of Crénénan. The route begins by following the Scorff along the Meunier PR® trail (yellow markings), then takes a short stretch of quiet road before joining the Crénénan PR® trail (yellow markings), which passes near the Crénénan fountain before reaching the Notre-Dame de Crénénan chapel. The return route follows a wide forest track that leads back to Guémené. Since 2023, the yellow and red markings of the GRP® SBO have been visible from the start. Although the route is generally straightforward, do not set off without a topographical map and a GPS. The four points of interest on the route are: the Grand Moulin (starting point), the Nicol mill, the fountain and the chapel at Crénénan

This circuit invites you to explore central Brittany, a hilly countryside dotted with cultivated fields, woods and peaceful landscapes. Along the route, you will discover a rich religious heritage: chapels and churches with remarkable architecture, open to the public and accompanied by information panels recounting their history. The route will also take you to the commune of Guémené-sur-Scorff, where you can discover the Bains de la Reine (Queen's Baths), the remains of the Rohan castle, the Maison Limbour and half-timbered houses. This loop also offers superb panoramic views of the surrounding countryside, for an experience that is both cultural and natural.

This magnificent loop takes you along beautiful country roads to the Drukpa Buddhist centre in Plouray, a unique place to visit and discover in Brittany, offering an immersion in Himalayan culture and spirituality. It also invites you to discover the Carrière de Locuon, a village built on a granite site marked by Gallo-Roman history, and the commune of Ploërdut, which has been awarded the Commune du Patrimoine Rural de Bretagne label.

The Grand Route de Bubry will charm you with its diverse paths and trails lined with embankments. A beautiful day trip through the heart of the countryside with its green landscapes, passing through villages with preserved traditional houses and close to chapels and fountains.

Walk around and through the village of Bubry along sunken paths and through woods. The walk offers beautiful views of the surrounding countryside and allows you to discover the village's religious heritage, its church and presbytery, the Sainte-Hélène Chapel, its fountain and its wash houses.

Departure from the Church of Saint-Yon in the village of Locuon in the commune of Ploërdut, in search of the springs of the Aër, a stream that takes its source from several small brooks that feed it and which will be discovered throughout this country walk. The trail is signposted and suggested by the Pays du Roy Morvan Tourist Office. Very often wet and muddy in winter, you'll need to be well equipped to complete this trail, or to enjoy it from mid-April to September when the weather is milder. Don't miss the Chapelle de Notre Dame de la Fosse at the end of the tour.

Do you like sunken paths? The ones on this route are very interesting and make up a good quarter of the route. So, if you want to walk between two embankments, in the shade of tall trees, head for Bubry. You'll be spoiled. The first hour of walking is rather unremarkable, but the rest of the route is quite exceptional.

Starting from Locunel, the Chevreuil (10 km) and Lann Bourgeol (7.3 km) routes – which can be tackled in two stages or in one go – will take you along streams and through woodland to explore the Inguiniel countryside. You’ll be charmed by its characterful houses, Lochrist Chapel, its churchyard and its fountain.

A circular loop along the meander of the Blavet, passing by the Saint-Gildas Chapel overlooked by a rock. Beautiful view of the Blavet, on the site of Castennec in the commune of Bieuzy. A few short steep sections on the way back, but no major difficulties.

This easy route follows the meandering Blavet river along the towpath on the left bank. Along the way, enjoy views of the Castennec escarpments, the Saint-Gildas chapel-hermitage on the other bank and three locks.

The banks of the Blavet are rich in religious heritage.This circuit will take you to Saint-Nicolas des Eaux, its chapel and fountain, before continuing through the countryside to the imposing Saint-Nicodème Chapel and its four majestic fountains.Enjoy a peaceful return trip along the towpath.

This very pretty route revolves around the Blavet valley, starting from Saint-Nicolas des Eaux, and allows you to discover some very interesting natural sites (the banks of the Blavet, Lande du Crano) as well as some remarkable examples of Breton architectural heritage (the semi-troglodytic chapel of Saint-Gildas, the noble houses of Bieuzy, the chapel of Saint-Nicodème, the locks). This walk is fairly well signposted (yellowPR® markings).

Take a short loop around Bon Repos Abbey by following the towpath of the Nantes-Brest canal to the Bellevue lock. The hike continues on theGR®34trail, which runs along the shores of Lake Guerlédan before venturing into the countryside and returning to the abbey.

A short circular walk to discover the covered alleys listed as Historic Monuments, then the Daoulas Gorges in a somewhat wild rocky environment. A complete change of scenery guaranteed. As a bonus, and for a short 1 km detour, I suggest you visit the ruins of Notre-Dame de Bon Repos Abbey.

A lovely hike that allows you to discover the shores of Lake Guerlédan. Start at Anse de Sordan and walk back up to Bon Repos Abbey.

A superb hike taking place largely through woodland, with magnificent views of the lake from the highest points. Some sections of the trail are quite steep, ideal for a good leg workout, but over short distances. Walking poles may be useful for those less confident on their feet. There are numerous lodges and campsites available for overnight stays. There are seven different starting points; check the lake’s website http://www.lacdeguerledan.com/ for details. The trail is very well signposted with “Sentier de Guerlédan” markers throughout the route and the red and white markings ofthe GR® 341 andGR® 37. A few paths branch off the main trail to stay close to the lake or climb a little higher into the forest, but always rejoin the main trail. Please note! The entire route around the lake is open from 1 March to 15 September. Outside this period, sections of the trail are closed for hunting.

First section of the tour around Lake Guerlédan, Brittany’s largest lake. Departure from Anse de Sordan towards Le Mané, passing by the Guerlédan dam. This route follows the eastern shore of the lake.

A beautiful route that initially follows the edge of Lake Guerlédan via theGR® 341, then climbs up to the Butte de Malvran, which overlooks the surrounding area.

Hike on the south side of Lake Guerlédan, starting from the church of Saint-Aignan in the commune of the same name. A rather bucolic route dotted with a few farms. The route runs along the shores of the lake and through the forest surrounding it. The landscapes are therefore very varied. Numerous paths allow you to diversify the route.

The second part of the tour of Lake Guerlédan, the most physically demanding, particularly at the start. Departure from Le Manet towards Anse de Sordan, passing by the former Abbey of Notre-Dame de Bon Repos. Return route via the western side of the lake.

Between the Côtes-d'Armor and Morbihan. Following the Guerlédan trail, you climb up to overlook the dam built around 1930 to supply the region with electricity, then through heathland and woods, you descend to the Nantes–Brest Canal. As you pass through the village of Saint-Aignan, you’ll come past an interesting little church and the electricity museum. Also worth seeing on the way out of the village is the small Saint-Aignan dam.

For having opposed the Regent, the Marquis of Pontcallec was once beheaded. His estate still stretches along the Scorff valley. The paths winding through the state-owned forest and the river’s deep-cut course offer the chance to discover a hidden gem in central Brittany.

This hike was completed and written during the summer of 2015, an exceptional period when the lake was drained for dam maintenance.We invite hikers to do this walk in spring, when the colours and scents are at their best, with the clear waters of the lake as a backdrop. Since 2024, major work has been underway between points 3 and 4 with a view to building a free Himalayan footbridge for crossing the Blavet, which cuts the complete tour of the lake in two. This will still be possible for the most experienced walkers. (See note in "Practical information".

This hike will take you to Porz Braz along the Anse de Landroanec, then the Bois de Caurel. You will pass the prehistoric camp of Castel Finans before going back up through the woods and returning to Porz Braz.

Starting from the Mileade centre, this hike will take you along Lake Guerlédan to the dam. On the way back, you can take a break at the leisure centre before crossing the Bois Cornec.
