Description of the walk

Park in the Lac Guerlédan car park near Anse de Sordan. Plenty of spaces available, but it’s best to arrive early before the first bathers.

GR 341, red and white markings.

(S) Start at Anse de Sordan, turning right towards the “Merlin” restaurant. Walk past the restaurant and continue straight on along the path that runs alongside the lake to the dam.

(1) Walk up the road for about sixty metres, then turn left onto the path that descends towards the Blavet.

(2) Turn left and cross the Blavet via the footbridge and the Guerlédan lock. Turn left again towards the dam.

GR37 and 341 Red and white markings

(3) Once you reach the dam power station, the path starts to the right of the gate with a steep climb (signpost “Sentier de Guerlédan”) up to the D18 (Rue du Lac).

(4) Turn left towards a roundabout.

Unmarked

(5) In the middle of the roundabout by the lake, a sign indicates the path to take. This is next to a shed marked “Station VTT Guerlédan”. A “Sentier de Guerlédan” signpost is located next to this shed. Follow the lake to a road near a holiday village.

GR37 and 341 Red and white markings

(6) Cross the road and the car park, then rejoin the path on the right.

(7) Turn left at Toul Brao and follow the road, keeping as close to the lake as possible.

GR37 White and red markings

(8) Turn left at the crossroads towards La Motte and stay on the road, ignoring a path on the right.

(9) At the bend, leave the road and rejoin the path by going straight ahead.

(10) At the car park, continue straight ahead: a signpost indicates the way. Follow the path that runs alongside the lake.

(11) Turn left at the junction to stay on the path running alongside the lake and arrive at the Mané car park (E).

Hello, very interesting route, we went around the lake in two days (day 1: 18 km, day 2: 18 km), starting from the Beau Rivage water sports centre known as "Le Mane", which is not easy to find in the description. It would be better to indicate the Beau Rivage water sports centre as the starting point, with parking for cars. Then we stayed overnight at L'Anse de Dorsan (three guest rooms and a campsite) and returned the next day to the Anse de Dorsan water sports centre. The hike requires a good level of fitness (very uneven terrain) but is definitely worth the effort. Highly recommended, really enjoyable.

A lovely walk. It involves some uphill and downhill sections, so it’s quite a workout. You’re mostly alongside the lake the whole way. The route is easy to follow. Walking time at a brisk pace is about 4 hours, though my rucksack was a bit too heavy.

A combined route with the Mané – Anse de Sordan, covering 38 km in 10 hours.
Quite a physical challenge, very varied, from the lake to the cliffs via the forests
Simply magnificent, a very beautiful walk.
